He kept his thoughts to himself. He stayed silent, bearing the burdens quitely, solitarily. He felt required to do this, as he wanted to seem professional to other knights.

The day he learned he was to be the Princess' escort and personal knight, he sat, desolated, on his bed. He did not know what was to come. What if he failed? What if he was deemed unprofessional and demoted? What if the Princess was killed under his care?

Things like that, he did not want to wonder.

Things between him and the Princess first were tense. She disliked him. He was the Hero of Legend, whereas she was a girl who could not awaken power destined to save her kingdom. She thought that he deemed her a failure. And his silence did not help.

But he eventually opened up to her. He did not, in fact, think of her as a failure. He saw her as a brave woman who helped her kingdom to the best of her abilities (despite them not being goddess-like). They became great friends. Could've become more, if they had opened that door. But it had stayed closed. For now, at least.

Three years later, and the ancient evil plaguing Hyrule known as Calamity Ganon was brought to its end, once and for all. Or so they thought.

And that is where our story begins.

A/N

Hello! I'm glad to see that you are interested enough in my story to be here. I have to work on the consistency of my publishing habits. But in my defense, I've been kinda sick. But I still have to work on that, as well as improving the length of my chapters.

I will also have to publish the chapters sooner, because I want this to be a good story, but also done by Christmas. I should have started this earlier. Maybe a chapter a day will work? Possibly. No promises! But I'll try my best.

I know the timeline here is kinda... all over the place. It'll make sense eventually. If you have played Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, you may think you know what is going to happen. But I plan on changing up the timeline and story to make this all a little more unpredictable and exciting.

And no, I'm not Italian! The emojis I used are Christmas colors. They mark the end and beginning of each chapter. The time skips will be represented with the following: and any mature, suggestive, or triggering content will be identified with these emojis: 🔺or  🔻. These symbols will mark the beginning and end of the parts that some might find uncomfortable. For example:

I hope you all have a wonderful day, or night!!!
