Zelda's POV

I heard Link fiddling with the Christmas lights as I hung up my handmade wreath on the door of his little house in Hateno. It's a house by itself, no neighboring houses beside it. The small house is located on a small plot of land, separated from the rest of Hateno Village by a thin valley with a river flowing through it and down to Hateno Bay. The only thing that connects this land to the village is a wide, wooden bridge.
Once I had finally gotten the wreath on the small hook, I stood back to check if it was straight. The wreath had faux pine needles and red berries scattered upon them. A silver glitter was sprinkled throughout the leaves, imitating snow. The cursive letter 'L' was placed in the middle of the wreath, its gold reflecting the setting sun.
I hear a sudden thud from where Link was putting up the lights. I rush over to him and see him low, on the ground, his hands on the grass below to steady himself.
"Are you okay?!" I ask, rushing over to him. "Are you hurt?"
He shakes his head in response, his low ponytail and sideburns bouncing back and forth. "Jumped off the 5th rung of the ladder."
He still doesn't talk much after we defeated Ganon, but he has been trying to open up to me, and to others. He still uses short phrases and body language, though.
"Does that mean you are done with the lights?"
"See for yourself."
I look up at the yellowish-white lights adorning our- I mean, his house. The lights are placed perfectly along the edges of the house, straight and not one bit lopsided.
"Your wreath looks amazing! Did you spray pine essential oils on it?" Link inquired, glancing at my wreath.
"Thank you! And yes, I did!" I respond, flattered by his praise, my cheeks heating slightly. "Let's go inside and decorate the tree!"
We walk to the door, but before Link can place his right hand on the doorknob, the lights in our house go out. The Christmas lights in the whole village switch off. Maybe a power outage? Has Purah been experimenting again?
I look at Link, and as I set my foot on the wooden planks, I see a silhouette of a man in a cloak. I can't be for sure from here, but it seems as if his arm is raised. Above the shadow of his arm, there is an orb-like pink mass hovering, with a ring of spikes rotating around it. But before I could say a word to Link, the silhouette vanished, with a shield of pink and black pouring out from the orb and around his body, engulfing him. And then he is gone.

Hey! Sorry for yet another short chapter! I was pretty busy today, and I am trying to keep up with what I said; that I would try to post every day. But my Thanksgiving break is over, and that means school is starting up again! Yay... (Notice the sarcasm.)
I will try my best to post every other day due to my school and sports schedules. Oh, and feel free to point out any errors in my writing!
You might know who the silhouette is... or you might not. But that's okay; you will find out soon!
Wanted to tell you guys that when I went to the mall today I went into the lego store and saw a Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle set. Guess how much it was:
$500. Crazy, right?!
I also saw the Deku Tree set from Breath of the Wild. it was $300. 😬 I want it so bad!!!!
If any of you are travelling for Christmas, I wish you safe travels and a fun time!
Peace out(for now)! ✌️
