As a few wished i wrote some more and have Plans for some others chapters follwoing them through the Break....

The paddock hummed with post-race energy, a mix of relief and excitement as the last race before the summer break wrapped up. Engineers packed equipment, team principals huddled in meetings, and drivers filtered through media obligations, their thoughts already drifting to upcoming plans for the month-long break.

Oscar Piastri leaned against a wall in the McLaren hospitality area, scrolling aimlessly through his phone. On the surface, he looked calm, maybe even a little detached—but his mind was racing.

Carlos had asked him to come to Spain.

Not just Spain. Mallorca. To visit his family.

The idea should’ve made Oscar happy—it did make him happy. But it also filled him with nerves he hadn’t expected. Carlos’s family wasn’t just a casual part of his life. They were at the center of everything he did, everything he cared about.

And Carlos hadn’t asked lightly.

The memory of that conversation a week earlier still played in Oscar’s head like a looped video, each moment sharper than the last.

They’d been back in their hotel room after a long, exhausting day of practice sessions. Oscar had been sprawled on the bed, half-watching some show on his laptop while Carlos paced the room. It wasn’t unusual—Carlos often moved when he was deep in thought—but this time, there was an energy to him that Oscar couldn’t ignore.

“Are you okay?” Oscar asked, sitting up slightly.

Carlos paused mid-step, his eyes flicking toward Oscar, then away. He looked like he was wrestling with something, a rare sight for the usually confident Spaniard.

“I need to ask you something,” Carlos finally said, his voice quieter than usual.

Oscar closed his laptop, giving Carlos his full attention. “Okay. What’s up?”

Carlos sat on the edge of the bed, facing Oscar but not quite meeting his gaze. He rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous habit Oscar had learned to recognize.

“So... the summer break is coming up,” Carlos began, his words slow and measured. “And I was thinking... well, hoping, actually...” He trailed off, his confidence wavering.

Oscar tilted his head, curious now. “Hoping for what?”

Carlos took a deep breath and looked up at Oscar, his brown eyes earnest. “I want you to come to Mallorca with me. To meet my family.”

The words hung in the air between them, heavier than Oscar had expected.

“Oh,” Oscar said, caught off guard.

Carlos immediately backtracked, his nerves fully on display. “I mean, only if you want to. No pressure! I just thought it might be nice, you know, to spend time together. Away from racing, away from... everything.”

Oscar stared at him, his mind racing. This was big—huge. Meeting Carlos’s family wasn’t just a casual vacation plan. It was a step forward, a confirmation that this relationship wasn’t just a fling or a secret they could keep forever.

But did Carlos realize what he was asking?

“Carlos,” Oscar said, his voice soft. “Are you sure about this? I mean, your family... they’re important to you. What if they don’t like me?”

Carlos frowned, his expression shifting to one of concern. “Why wouldn’t they like you?”

Oscar shrugged, suddenly feeling self-conscious. “I’m not exactly the life of the party. I’m quiet, serious... the opposite of you. What if they think I’m boring? Or that I don’t fit into your world?”

Carlos’s hand found Oscar’s, squeezing it gently. “Oscar, listen to me. My family doesn’t care about any of that. They care about me. And I care about you. That’s all they’ll see—a guy who makes me happy. And trust me, once they see how amazing you are, they’ll love you just as much as I do.”

Oscar blinked, his heart skipping a beat. “You love me?”

Carlos froze, realizing what he’d said. A blush crept up his neck, but he didn’t look away. “Yes,” he said firmly. “I love you. And I want you to meet the people who mean the most to me. But if you’re not ready, that’s okay. I’ll wait.”

Oscar’s chest felt tight, his emotions swirling in ways he couldn’t quite put into words. He wasn’t sure he was ready for all of this, but he also couldn’t deny how much he wanted to be with Carlos—fully, openly.

He took a deep breath and smiled, his nerves still there but muted by the warmth in Carlos’s eyes. “Okay,” he said softly. “I’ll come to Mallorca with you.”

Carlos’s face lit up, his grin bright enough to chase away every lingering doubt in Oscar’s mind. “Really?”

“Really,” Oscar confirmed, squeezing Carlos’s hand. “But if it goes badly, I’m blaming you.”

Carlos laughed, leaning in to kiss him gently. “Fair enough. But trust me, it won’t. We’re going to have the best time. You’ll see.”

Back in the paddock, Carlos found Oscar sitting on a couch, his face buried in his phone. He plopped down beside him, a playful grin on his face.

“You’re quiet today,” Carlos said, nudging him. “What’s going on in that head of yours?”

Oscar glanced up, his lips twitching into a small smile. “Just thinking about the break.”

Carlos chuckled, leaning back and stretching his arm along the back of the couch. “A month without racing—imagine that. How are we going to survive?”

Oscar’s smile grew, but it didn’t reach his eyes.

“Come on,” Carlos said, his tone turning softer. “What’s really going on?”

Oscar sighed, finally setting his phone down. “I’m just nervous about Mallorca. Meeting your family, being around them... it’s a big deal.”

Carlos shifted closer, his hand finding Oscar’s. “You don’t need to be nervous. My parents are going to love you. My siblings will probably adore you too.”

“What if they don’t?” Oscar asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

“They will,” Carlos said firmly. “Because you’re you. And that’s more than enough.”

Oscar nodded, some of the weight lifting from his shoulders. He still had doubts, but if Carlos believed in him, maybe he could believe in himself too.

“Okay,” he said, a small smile breaking through. “But don’t say I didn’t warn you if it all goes to hell.”

Carlos laughed, pulling Oscar closer. “Noted. But trust me—it won’t.”
