Jungkook stood in the middle of the street, his heart pounding in his ears. He blinked, his eyes scanning the empty sidewalk, but there was no sign of her. She had vanished as quickly as she appeared.

He ran a hand through his hair, frustrated. Am I losing my mind?

But he couldn’t ignore the deep, gnawing feeling that something important had just slipped through his fingers. The same feeling he’d had in his dreams—the sense that she was so close, yet always out of reach.

Pulling his jacket tighter around himself, he began walking aimlessly, hoping to shake off the eerie feeling. As he turned a corner, his phone buzzed in his pocket. It was a text.

He pulled it out, heart racing.

Unknown: “You’re getting closer.”

Jungkook froze, staring at the message. The words were simple, but they hit him like a punch to the gut. How did they know?

Before he could respond, the phone buzzed again.

Unknown: “Don’t stop. You’re almost there.”

He felt a chill run down his spine. There was no name, no clue as to who was sending these messages. But it didn’t matter. All that mattered was one thing: she was real. She was out there.

Jungkook’s pulse quickened. Find me.

He didn’t know how, or where, but he would find her. And when he did, everything would finally make sense.
