Jungkook’s pulse raced as he watched the stranger sit down across from her. His mind buzzed with questions, but his body refused to move. Every instinct told him to step forward, to confront whatever was happening—but fear held him in place.
He tried to listen, straining to catch the words, but the conversation was quiet. The man spoke with a calmness that only made Jungkook more uneasy. The woman’s posture remained stiff, distant—she wasn’t reacting like someone who had been waiting for him.
Then, just as quickly as it started, the conversation ended. The man stood, placing something on the table before turning to leave.
Jungkook’s heart stopped when he saw it: a small, folded piece of paper.
The woman hesitated for a moment before picking it up. She unfolded it slowly, her fingers trembling slightly. Jungkook’s breath caught in his throat.
Was this it? Was this the clue he’d been waiting for?
Before he could get any closer, the woman stood abruptly and walked out of the café, the paper still clutched tightly in her hand. Jungkook followed, his feet moving against his will, his heart racing.
The city streets were quieter now, and the woman moved swiftly, as though she knew he was behind her. He kept his distance, watching her every move, trying not to lose sight of her.
She turned a corner, disappearing into an alley. Jungkook quickened his pace, but when he reached the spot, she was gone.
He cursed under his breath, looking around frantically. No sign of her. No trace.
Then, his phone buzzed again.
It was another message.
Unknown: “You were close, but you still don’t know the truth.”
Jungkook’s heart dropped as he read the words. The message was cryptic, as if mocking him for his failure. He clenched his fists, frustration boiling within him.
He glanced down at the sidewalk, and there, lying just beneath his feet, was the piece of paper the woman had held. His breath caught.
He bent down quickly, picking it up. It was a map—a drawn-out path, marked with an X near a location he didn’t recognize. At the bottom of the map were two words: "Find me."
The message felt different now, clearer, almost like a challenge.
Jungkook stood up, his gaze fixed on the map. It was no longer about finding her in the shadows. It was about uncovering the truth.
And this time, he wouldn’t let it slip away.
