Chapter 7: The Recitals

A few weeks before each show Balor made
Lexie Jewellery matched the theme of the show.
The autumn recital was honoring Native American history and harvest. Lexie had five solos. The jewelry Balor made her for the show
had turquoise and Carnelia crystal.
Lexie's part was the Native American Chief's
The daughter's job in the tribe was a healer.
One of the warriors fell in love with the Chief's
Daughter.
Lexie's dancing told the story beautifully.
This made the usually hardened Kelly Sevride
cry. During different parts, she smiled directly at him. Lexie's blue eyes sparkled each time she caught her Dad's gaze. During a particularly rough battle scene, Lexie's character's love interest almost dies.
But the healer princess saved him.
Lexie's final solo was delivering the elder princess's baby.
Stella pointed out to Kelly that the girl playing the older sister seemed to be pregnant.
Stella "Kel, doesn't the girl playing the older princess look pregnant right now to you?
I think she might be about to go into labor."
Kelly retorted "I agree let's not bring attention
to that during the show."
At the end of the show, Lexie hurried over and hugged Kelly.
Lexie"Dad, I'm so glad you could make it.
I always wanted you at my recital, Dad."
Kelly "Lexie, you know I always wanted to be at your recitals. You were gorgeous my darling daughter. "
Lexie"Dad where is Stella?
I think the girl playing my older sister Kerri,
I think she might be close to going into labor.
I heard crying and breathing hard from her dressing room. I think I even heard her vomit as well. "
Suddenly they heard screaming from the direction of Kerri's dressing room.
Stella texted Kelly, "Kel, I'm in the dressing room with Kerri. She is in labor now."
Kelly stepped out and radioed for paramedics
explaining the situation.
When he stepped back in he told Lexie
"Lexie medics are on the way for Kerri.
Do you have any ideas of who is the father of her kids?"
Lexie gulped hard. "Dad, either her boyfriend, Andy, or Luke Damon from my school.
Dad are the medics meeting Kerri around back so no one will see her?
I knew she was having contractions when we were doing the birth scene.
Also, she kept belching throughout the show.
The guy who played my character's love interest
Oliver James O'Reilly. I think the scene where he kissed me and he meant it.
I know he's been in love with me for a few years now. Ollie is bisexual but has never shown interest in anyone else besides me."
As soon as Lexie told her dad, Ollie came and hugged her from behind kissing her on her cheek.
Ollie blushed realizing  Kelly was there.
Ollie"Oh You must be Lieutenant Kelly Sevride of Rescue Squad Three from Firehouse 51 and
my dear sweet Lexie's Dad. I'm Oliver James O'Reilly. Ollie, if you like, Sir."
Kelly retorted, "Ollie, you like my sweet Lexie here, huh?
You seem genuinely interested in taking care of
her. She will be in the Girls On Fire program after high school graduation."
Ollie "Sir, one of the younger boys, Danny, thought he saw Kerri leaking breast milk.
I just want to keep Lexie safe that's all I care about. Sir. My dad is a businessman and wanted to take Lexie's whole family out for dinner. Lexie had mentioned her older sister
Daphne is an awesome cook. I'd rather taste her food when they go out to eat. My Dad always wants to go out to eat but that food tends to make me sick more often than not.
I just want food I can eat."
Kelly "Ollie, Daphne has a catering business and she would love to cook for you.
We will go over it in a week or two, ok?
The only one who gets sick is her son David but he eats too much."
Ollie"Sounds like David is sometimes a bit naughty when it comes to his mom's cooking.
I'd love to have dinner at Daphne's business.
She won't make me sick and I know that.
I just adore Lexie so much. I kind of thought about marrying her someday.
Lexie Sevride is the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen. She is so smart, kind and caring
I can't believe she likes me back."
After saying this Ollie heard Lexie sniffle and turned swiftly wiped away Lexie's tears.
Ollie whispers, "Lexie, sweetie, it's alright. You don't have to worry about Kerri. She will be fine.
Rest your head on my shoulder honey. I'm here to comfort you. Lexie, you looked so gorgeous tonight. I just want to take care of you."
While saying this he held her close. They both blushed feeling his reaction to her closeness.
Lexie quietly sighed. "Oh, Ollie, you need to deal with your situation. You know we can't do anything until we are in our late twenties, honey.
I love you though handsome.."
Lexie kissed Ollie ruffling his hair a bit.
Ollie whispered, "I will be right back, Lexie, my sweet love."
Ollie rushed to find relief from his situation.
Ollie returned it a few moments.
Ollie blushed. "Sorry, Sir, I just can't help when she is that close to me.
I can't stop adoring and loving her Sir.
Unlike that pig Luke Damon, I would never dream of hurting her in any way.
My love for her could never end.
Lexie is my dream girlfriend and one day maybe my wife."
Kelly nodded. "Ollie, I know how much you love her. But what did you mean when you mentioned Luke Damon?"
Ollie"Sir, Luke Damon wanted to do some discussing things with Lexie. Luke always used to get caught rubbing one off to pictures of her.
Then he got Amaya pregnant after five years of practically stopping having relations with Amaya. I tried to talk him out of both things. But he never cared if he got caught by anyone."
Kelly shook his head"Ollie, Lukes older cousin
Jack is my brother. We will comfort Luke.
Don't you try to do anything more but love Lexie?"
During the car ride home Lexie told her Dad
"Dad I want to stay with you and Stella from now on. Mom has bought her new boyfriend around and I think he's a real creep.
If I can't stay with you and Stella, Ollie's Aunt
Marie offered to let me stay with her. But I just want to be with you and Stella, Dad."
Kelly"Lexie, what is wrong with your mom's new boyfriend?
Has he tried to touch you or one of your brothers?
Did you catch him attempting anything he should not?"
Lexie"Lakin was in Jackie's room one day.
Jackie cried so hard he went into an epileptic
fit.  I checked the monitor cam and was horrified to see him touching Jackie's
private parts.
Lakin also tried to touch my chest and backside and my sensitive area.
I punched and kicked him in his private parts
when he got up after passing out from the pain
he tried to put his private parts in my mouth.
But I punched him again and he passed out.
He wanted to hurt mom who rejected his advances."
Kelly"Let me talk to your mom, ok sweetie."
After he said this Kelly called Audrey on the phone.
"Audrey, we need to talk. Lexie just told me about your new boyfriend, Lakin.
He has sexually assaulted Jackie.
Also having attempted to do this to Lexie.
Lexie will be staying with Stella and me until Lakin goes away permanently out of the lives of you and the kids. Please tell me you have not  slept with him."
Audrey"Lakin will be gone soon.
Thanks Kel for letting me know.
Lexie can stay with you and Stella for now.
I will call Officer Platt to have him removed, and  I will also get a permanent PFA against him for the kids and me.
How was Lexie's dance recital tonight?"
Kelly"Lexie was gorgeous.
Have you met Ollie James O'Reilly yet?
He is a good young man.
I can already tell he loves Lexie so much and she feels the same. They are adorable and wholesome when they are together."
Audrey"I can't believe I missed her recital because Jackie had another fit.  The doctor said when he is in his twenties he will need an implant to treat his epilepsy."
After a quiet conversation, Kelly hung up the phone.
Lexie"Dad, I get to stay with you and Stella, right?"
Kelly "Lexie, let's grab your stuff and go back to my place."
After they arrived and went into Audrey's house Kelly sent Lexie up to get her stuff.
Lakin walked into the room and addressed Kelly, "You that bastard who could not keep his mouth shut."
Kelly retorted"You certainly have no right to touch Audrey or my kids. If you do any such thing you will be in jail."
Lakin tried to punch Kelly who blocked all of his hits easily.
Lexie came down with her bags and hugged Kelly.
Lakin"You love your piece of crap, Dad, don't you, little bitch?"
Kelly retorted, "Lexie, take the keys and go out to the car. You don't need to see this."
Lexie obliged and went to the car sitting in the passenger seat.  Lexie saw officers Platt, Rusek
and Halstead pull up. She sighed knowing Lakin would be gone forever soon.
Officer Platt came over to the car and saw Lexie sitting there.
Lexie opened the door and handed Officer Platt a written statement filling her in on everything that had happened.
Trudy "You are Kelly's daughter. This is very detailed."
Ten minutes later Ruzek and Halstead dragged Lakin out. Lakin cursed and yelled as he was dragged out.
Lexie handed Trudy a handwritten statement about Luke Damon and his concerning behaviors.
Trudy nodded as she read the statement.
Trudy "Looks like he is Related to Jack Damon, your dad's half-brother. They should confront him before we send officers."
Lexie sleepily whispered, "Yes, Aunt Trudy, they should go."
A moment later Kelly emerged from the house.
Kelly "Lexie, let's get you back to my house.
I'm sure Stella has a room ready for you."
Lexie closed her car door, put on her seatbelt, and put the seat back, promptly falling into an extremely deep and peaceful sleep.
As they pulled up at Kelly and Stella's house, still deeply asleep Lexie put her head on Kelly's shoulder.
Stella and Mattie came out carrying Lexie's
bags and took the keys.
Kelly scooped Lexie up and carried her straight
to bed. Lexie was asleep the whole time, but she sweetly and gently kissed her Dad's cheek a few times.
After he put her in bed and tucked her into a still sleep, "Dad, can you stay with me tonight? I'm scared."
Stella and Mattie quietly set Lexie's bags in the room and closed the door.
The next morning, Lexie moved in her sleep to face Kelly.
Her Dad gently moved a strand of hair from her face and whispered, "Good morning, Daddy's girl. How did you sleep?"
Lexie groaned"Dad, I want to go to the firehouse the next few days instead of going to school."
Suddenly Lexie's stomach rumbled loudly.
Lexie blushed."Oops, sorry, Dad, I guess the stress built up in my belly. Also, I'm kind of hungry now."
As Lexie stretched a large belch slipped out.
Lexie "Oops, Excuse me. How rude and unladylike of me. I want some oatmeal because
it will be gentle on my stressed-out stomach."
Kelly retorted, "Lexie, how about a walk after breakfast? That should help settle your stomach."
Lexie "Yes, Dad, let's eat first, though.
I'm sure the officers will find a lot against Lakin."
As Kelly and Lexie finished breakfast his phone buzzed with a text from Jay.
Jay texted"Lakin has an extensive record of
abuse and crime. Lexie's statement helped.
Also her statement against Luke Damon was helpful it looks like he has a lot more visitors
then just Amaya. But. I can't help thinking that before  we spring and operation on Luke.
You and Jack would talk to him, since Jack is his older cousin."
Kelly retorted"Jack and I will go meet with Luke Wednesday morning."
Jack texted Kelly"So are we going to see Luke Wednesday morning?
I told his mom to keep him home Wednesday.
She told me that was already the plan because his behavior is way out of line.
She also told me that quite a few girls have come by their house appearing to be pregnant.
A few of  the girls have had what would appear to be morning sickness."
Kelly retorted"Damn it. Jack we gotta get him off the streets.
Lexie will be at the firehouse Wednesday when we are at Luke's house."
Lexie"Dad can we go for that walk now I'm
kind of bloated and a walk would help."
As she said this Lexie rubbed her belly trying to soothe it while grimacing.
Lexie blushed as a massive belch slipped out.
Lexie"Oops sorry Dad. Excuse me. How rude of
me. That was so disgusting."
Kelly and Lexie left for their walk during which
she continued finding relief.
Half an hour later Lexie went along to the firehouse.
The crew members all greeted her,
Hey Lexie
Hey sunshine
Hey Fire Queen
Hey sweetie
Hey sweetheart.
Lexie went into Kelly's office and sat on the bed
putting her headphones in and listening to music.
The noise and chaos of the fire house faded
away. Lexie's eyes closed and she drifted into a deep sleep.
Lexie slept right through five different alarms.
When Lexie woke up the crew was on a call.
Lexie yawned , stretching. As she did so she blushed letting out a massive painful belch.
She ran to the bathroom knowing what was to come next.
When Lexie finished in the bathroom she cleaned up and sprayed spray so no one would know what went on.
When the crew returned Lexie was asleep again.
Kelly quietly stepped into his quarters
seeing his sleep daughter made him grin knowing she felt safe enough to sleep.
Soon Lexie started to wake up.
Lexie sleepily "D....Dad you're back now I missed you. The only bad thing to happen today was my stomach gave me some trouble.
But I'm fine now. I'm just glad you are back now Dad."
Kelly "Lexie let me examine your belly just to make sure you are alright."
Lexie nodded"Dad , excuse me in advance if anything comes out while you are doing the examination."
Kelly started gently pressing on Lexie's
stomach.
Lexie blushed as a round of massive belches came out and by the end she passed gas.
Lexie"Oops that was wet. I'm so embarrassed.
Excuse me. How rude of me.
I will go change and wash my clothes and the sheets. I'm so relieved that this is all out now."
