Dylan:

"Just stay in here," I said.
"I don't want to. I can be down there if I want," Jane argued.
"No you can't. It's too dangerous for you."
"She's chained down! I will be fine. You'll be by me anyway."
I let out a frustrated groan. "You are going to stay here and that's final. The mothers will make sure you don't go down there." I grabbed Jane's hand and brought her downstairs. The mom's started to surround us.
"Let me see her!" One shouted.
"She's beautiful!" Another shouted.
"She'll make a great mother," my mom said.
"Mom," I said. She looked up at me.
"Your father is downstairs. Go on now. Leave her here. She'll be fine," she said.
"Alright. I'll be back." I kissed Jane's forehead before going down into the cellar.
"Tell me how you covered your scent!" My dad shouted. I came up to Brandon.
"She still hasn't talked?" I asked.
"No. But she bit me," Brandon said, holding up his hand. And sure enough his finger was bleeding.
"You shouldn't be poking at her," I said. He stuck his tongue out at me.
"She refuses to talk. You can try but I don't think she'll talk," my father said.
"Dylan?" Chloe asked, her voice dry.
"Now she talks," Brandon grumbled.
"Of course I'll talk around my mate," she purred. I rolled my eyes and growled.
"You're not my mate," I said. She started coughing.
"Yes I am. Can't you feel the bond?" She asked, smiling.
"There is no bond between us. That's why I felt so repulsed when you even looked in my direction," I growled. "My mate is Jane." Chloe growled at hearing my mate's name.
"That fat whore?" She snorted. I stormed into the cage and grabbed her by her neck.
"You will not talk about my mate like that!" I yelled. She winced.
"Son," my dad said. I pulled my hand away from her.
"Get Marcy," I ordered.
"Yes alpha," Janson said.
A couple of minutes passed and Marcy was with us. Marcy stood beside Janson. He didn't want her to get to close to the rogue filth.
"Yes alpha?" She asked.
"Since we can't exactly hurt her unless we're fighting, I want you to. Only when she doesn't answer us," I said. Marcy nodded and a smirk appeared on her face.
"With pleasure." Marcy walked into the cage and Chloe grunted.
"You think this pup can hurt me?" Chloe asked. Marcy looked at me and I gave her a nod. Marcy punched Chloe right in the nose.
"She's our strongest female warrior. Don't underestimate her," I said. Marcy smiled.
"Now let's get started shall we?"

Jane:

"Just stay in here," Dylan said.
"I don't want to. I can be down there if I want," I argued.
"No you can't. It's too dangerous for you."
"She's chained down! I will be fine. You'll be by me anyway."
Dylan let out a frustrated groan. "You are going to stay here and that's final. The mothers will make sure you don't go down there." He grabbed my hand and brought me downstairs. The mom's started to surround us.
"Let me see her!" One shouted.
"She's beautiful!" Another shouted.
"She'll make a great mother," a woman said.
"Mom," Dylan said. His mom? Oh great.
"Your father is downstairs. Go on now. Leave her here. She'll be fine," she said.
"Alright. I'll be back." Dylan kissed my forehead before going down into the cellar. I felt a pair of arms grab me.
"I'm Dylan's mother, Emma!" She said.
"H-hi," I said, giving a small wave. Emma brought me into a hug.
"So how's my son treating you? When he was little we would tell him stories about how someday he'll find his mate. He would get so excited and when he was finally old enough to find his mate he was even happier! When my little boy told us he found you, he was already in love. The way he talked about you was adorable. That's what it's like having a mate," she paused, "this must be a bit confusing still. I'm sorry dear."
He really does care about me. Feels nice for once.
"Do you have any questions about us?" Emma asked.
"Well I do have a few," I said, quietly.
"Go ahead. I'll do my best," she said. I cleared my throat.
"What's marking?"
"That's when the male wolf bites your neck to mark you as theirs. Your scent will be mixed with his. And from there you guys will finish the mating process!" She said, brightly.
"M-mating process? As in-"
"Yes. That. You aren't prepared for any of this are you?" She asked.
I shook my head. "I'm only 18. And why would he want to see this naked?" I gestured to all of me.
"Oh sweetheart. He doesn't care about your size. He doesn't. To him you're the most beautiful girl in the world. Of course he'll want to see you nude. You're his mate," she calmly said. How many times as she said that? It sounds rehearsed.
"Are there any other humans?" I asked.
"You mean does any other wolf have a mate that's human?" She asked. I nodded my head. "Yes. Would you like to meet him?"
"Yes. If that would be okay," I said.
"Well I don't see why not!" She said. Wait him? I thought the male marks the female? How does that work then?
"Excuse me, Emma?" I asked.
"Yes?"
"How does that work? Him being human and all. I thought the male marks the female?" I asked. She smiled.
"You can ask him yourself if you want," she said.
"Uh. Sure."
"Chris!" She shouted. A tall man came running down the stairs.
"What?" He asked. He saw me stared. I shifted uncomfortably. "Who's that?"
"That is the Luna. Chris say hello to Jane," Emma said.
"She's human," Chris said.
"Yes. That's why I called you down here, dweeb," Emma said. I giggled.
"So what else do you need me for?" He asked.
"Talk to her. As a human she doesn't really understand it all. Just like you." Chris rolled his eyes and stalked over to me. While walking over to me Emma hit the back of his head.
"She's the Luna. Show some respect," Emma said.
"What's a Luna exactly?" I asked. Chris rolled his eyes again.
"Dylan didn't tell you any of this?" He asked, clearly annoyed.
"No. We've both had a bad day today. He hasn't gotten the chance," I said.
"Whatever. But a Luna is the female alpha. She's the alpha's equal. They both run the pack together," he said.
"Oh."
"Why you? Out of all the smoking hot girls out there, he chooses you." I started to get angry. I'm so tired of everyone making fun of my weight. Right before I was about to tell him off, a girl walked up to us.
"You idiot! You can't disrespect the Luna like that! Alpha Dylan will have your head! What the hell is wrong with you?" She yelled. She turned to me. "I'm so sorry Luna. Please forgive my idiot mate. He doesn't know what a Luna means to us, wolves." I started to feel relaxed when I felt a hand on my shoulder. Judging by the sparks I assume it's Dylan.
"What's the problem here?" Dylan asked. The girls face went pale. As did Chris's.
"N-nothing alpha," the girl lied.
"Jamie. I can tell when you're lying to me. Tell the truth," Dylan ordered.
"My mate here was being disrespectful to the Luna," Jamie whispered.
"He what?" Dylan shouted. Chris started to shake and hid behind Jamie.
"I-I didn't mean to! I'm s-sorry!" Chris said.
"Please don't hurt him. He's only human. He doesn't know what a Luna means to us. I'm sure he knows now," Jamie said. I put my hand on Dylan. I felt him relax a bit.
"I want him to stay away from the Luna. He can't be near her unless he's protecting her," Dylan said.
"Yes alpha," Jamie said.
"Come on. Let's go back to the room. I'm tired," Dylan said, grabbing my hand.
"You could have gotten killed!" Jamie yelled as she punched Chris.
Dylan opened the door and then closed it. He walked over to the bed and threw himself on it.
"Feels nice," he said. His nose was squished against the mattress. I giggled at him.
"Come lay with me," he said, patting the empty spot beside him. I slowly walked over to the bed. I slipped off my shoes and got under the covers.
"It does feel nice," I said. Dylan chuckled. Dylan moved us to where I was laying on his chest. I listened to the steady beating of his heart. I started to drift to sleep when my phone rang. Dylan grabbed my phone and gave it to me. It was my mom. I sat up and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Is this Jane Harris?" A voice said.
"Yes."
"I'm a doctor from the hospital. You're mother was in a car accident. She died on impact. I'm very sorry," the doctor said. I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. Tears were burning my eyes just waiting to fall. I couldn't breath. It's like all the oxygen from my lungs were sucked out.
"N-no. No. No. No!" I shouted, tears streaming down my face. I felt the whole entire world drop on my shoulders. "Mom. No."
