Jane:
I felt the chunk of rock being moved from my arm.
"Stop!" I yelled. It stopped.
"Why? Jane, I have to get you out," the voice said.
"I-it hurts," I said.
"It's going to hurt. I'm going to get you out. Just hold tight, baby girl." Dylan.
"Get in here now!" Dylan yelled. I heard more feet, but couldn't see who it was. Too much dust in my eyes.
"On three," Dylan said.
"One."
"Two."
"Three!" The rock was being lifted from my arm and I inhaled more dust. I felt something brush against my arm and winced. I looked up into glowing red eyes. Red? I thought they were always black. I'll ask about that some other time.
Dylan:
I started running as soon as I heard there were rogues. My feet pounded the ground. I skidded to a stop when I saw them. A growl erupted.
"Give us Alpha Chloe back!" Lisa said. I stared at her and figured she must be the rogue Beta.
"Why on earth would I do that?" I asked. The girl next to Lisa held up a remote.
"Because if you don't your precious mate dies," Lisa said. I looked up at my room and saw a flickering red light. A bomb.
"How did you get that up there?" I asked. Lisa smiled.
"I have my ways. Now give us Alpha Chloe!" She said.
"Give me the remote first," I ordered. Lisa snorted.
"You think I'm dumb? Gi-"
"Yeah," Brandon said. Lisa glared at him.
"Give me Chloe first. Then I'll give you the remote," Lisa said.
"Let's do a trade at the same time. One dumb ugly rogue for one remote that is very important to me," I said. Lisa gave a slight nod. "Bring out the rogue!"
Janson and Brandon were pulling Chloe in silver shackles. She hissed in pain.
"Chloe!" The girl shouted, about to pass onto my territory. I waited for her foot to touch the ground, so I could rip her to shreds. But her foot never touched it. I looked up and saw Lisa smiling.
"I'm the Beta. It's my job to make sure this idiot stays alive," she said. I growled.
"You bitch!" Janson yelled. I turned around and saw Janson's hand was bleeding. Chloe had a smug smile. I heard a growl from Marcy. Her eyes were glowing gold.
"Marcy. Don't let your wolf have control," I said.
"I know. I'm trying," she said.
I took the chains from my second and third and pulled Chloe. She latched onto my side and I shoved her off.
"I am not your mate!" I growled.
"Stop fighting it!" She said. I smacked her across the face. Blood came seeping out of her cracked lips.
"Let's just get this over with." I yanked her chains and she came stumbling forward. I held out my hand and Lisa put the remote in it. I gave her the chain. We both swapped and that's when I heard laughing. Lisa held up another remote.
"Stupid alpha," she said, before pressing the button.
My room exploded and I heard a scream. My heart broke. What if Jane is dead?
I bolted toward the house and went straight up the stairs. I heard another scream.
"Luna!" Ezra shouted. The door was wide open and there was a giant hole in the room. I heard something crash to the floor, dust flying everywhere, and a scream. I started coughing and tried to find my mate.
"Jane!" I yelled. I finally saw her limp body laying under some concrete. One piece on her arm the other on her leg.
Jane:
I had blacked out from the pain. It was too much. When I woke up I felt a sharp pain in my leg. I realized I was in a hospital. I looked at my arm. It was in a cast. Well my forearm anyway. I felt something move in my left hand and turned to see what it was. It was Dylan's hand. I moved my hand and Dylan jerked up. He looked like a mess. His eyes had bags underneath them from lack of sleep. His hair was a mess, like if he was running his fingers through it.
"Hey. How you feeling?" He asked. I gave a half smile.
"Like I got hit by a bus," I said. He chuckled.
"I'm glad you're okay. I was afraid you weren't going to wake up," Dylan said.
"You can't get rid of me that easy," I said. Dylan smiled and gave me a light kiss. Sparks ignited and warmth courses through my body. I missed that.
"How long was I out?" I asked. Dylan looked down. "Dylan."
"3 years," he said.
"3 years?!" I asked. He looked up and smiled.
"No not really. Only 5 days," Dylan said. "You, uh, missedyourmomsfuneral."
"I'm sorry, what?" I asked.
"You missed your mom's funeral."
I took a quick breath. I missed my mom's funeral. I can't believe that. The only person that ever cared about me and I missed her funeral. I felt tears coming.
"Jane, please don't cry. I can't take it anymore," Dylan said. I sniffled.
"Okay. I won't cry anymore. But what daughter misses her mother's funeral?" I asked. I put my head in my hands. I felt a hand on my shoulder and sparks erupted.
"It's not your fault. You were in a coma for five days. Everyone understands," Dylan said. I shook my head.
"I don't care if everyone understands. I missed my moms funeral! The only person in the world that cares about me is dead and I couldn't go to her funeral! Do you have any idea how that makes me feel?" I yelled.
Dylan held up his hands.
"Jane. Put the needle down," he said. I realized I was holding a needle up to my neck. I didn't even know I got up from the bed. How did I get out? My leg is broken too. I slowly put the needle down. Dylan walked up to me and held me in his arms. I felt safe and complete. I pulled away from him and looked up at his beautiful tanned face.
"Can I go see her grave?" I asked.
"Of course, baby girl," Dylan said, giving a small kiss to my forehead. Dylan pulled me back to the hospital bed and covered me up. He held me hand and then started walking towards the door.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"To get some food," he replied, with a smile. I gave him a weak smile and he walked out.
Dylan came back several minutes later with two cups of coffee, a twix, a snickers, and a bag of nacho cheese Doritos.
"Junk food?" I asked. Dylan smiled.
"Duh." He sat at the foot of the bed and handed me a cup. I took a sip.
"What makes you think Doritos will taste good with coffee?" I asked.
"I'm sure it tastes horrible but I didn't know what else to get," Dylan said. I chuckled and took another sip.
"We should go eat Chinese food," I said.
"You're crazy. It's 2:00 in the morning," he said. My eyes widened.
"Are you serious?" Dylan nodded his head.
After we finished eating our terrible combinations, we laid down. Dylan managed to fit him and all his muscles in my bed too. Not like I was complaining or anything. I looked at my cast on my arm and leg. Guess who's going to have to be pushed in a wheel chair? Who's going to be with me 24/7? Dylan or Benjamin and Ezra? Wait, are they okay? Did the survive?
"What happened to Benjamin and Ezra?" I asked.
"We'll talk about that tomorrow. Just get some rest," Dylan said, rubbing my back. I just nodded afraid of what I was going to hear.
