Taehyung felt like the ground had been ripped out from under him, leaving him suspended in a whirlwind of emotions he couldn't begin to process.

His chest tightened with an ache he couldn't name, and his mind raced with disbelief and confusion. The words "You're my brother" echoed in his head, relentless and overwhelming, as if trying to carve themselves into his very soul.

Could Jin really be telling the truth? Could this man, who had been his hyung, his friend, his protector, be the family he thought he'd never had? Doubt gnawed at him, sharp and relentless. The idea seemed too far-fetched, too surreal to be real.

The omega took a step back, shaking his head slowly as if trying to clear his thoughts. "No," he said, his voice louder now, edged with disbelief. "That... that can't be true. I think you're mistaken."

Jin's heart shattered at the sight of Taehyung pulling away, his trembling hands now empty as the omega slipped from his grasp. The beta's own tears welled up, threatening to spill, but he didn't move. He could only watch as Taehyung wrestled with the truth, his reaction piercing Jin's heart deeper than any rejection could.

"Taehyung," Jin pleaded, his tone urgent but gentle. "I know it's hard to believe, but it's the truth."

The omega let out a shaky laugh, his eyes darting away as though avoiding the weight of Jin's gaze. "Hyung, I don't even remember anything about a family," he argued, his voice breaking slightly. "How could I be your brother? This doesn't make sense!"

"I know it is overwhelming," Jin said, trying to near the omega. "And I know you don't remember, but I do. There's a birthmark, Taehyung. The half-moon tattoo on your calf. Only my brother had that. And you... you remind me so much of our father."

Taehyung's hands clenched at his sides, his mind spinning. "No," he repeated, his voice trembling as tears welled in his eyes and glared at the beta. "You might have noticed it!" he accused, his voice rising as his emotions threatened to overwhelm him.

"A Lot of people have birthmarks, and you can't assume I am your brother just by my looks," The omega seethed, tears rolling down his cheeks as he accused the beta. "This is nonsense!"

"You're wrong. You have to be wrong," Taehyung shook his head, unable to digest whatever Jin was stating. Jin can never be his brother. If at all he was, where was he all this time? Why did he let him be a rogue? Why did he have to suffer all his life? Why didn't his parents come for him? What happened to them?

"I am not wrong, Taehyung!" Jin exclaimed, he firmly stood before the younger. He couldn't hold back the tears which rolled down his cheeks. His hands reached out but stopped short, unsure if Taehyung would allow him to bridge the distance. "I swear on myself, on our parents that you are my brother. I've been searching for you for years-"

"I don't believe you!" Taehyung screamed, his voice cracking with a mix of anger and pain. "Stop this right here!" His feet moved toward the door in frantic determination to escape the unbearable tension, his back turned to Jin.

But as his fingers brushed the doorknob, Jin's voice rang out, calm but piercing through the air like an arrow.

"You are the rare omega, aren't you?"

Taehyung froze mid-step, his breath hitching in his throat. His heart plummeted to his stomach, and a chill ran down his spine. The words reverberated in his mind, each syllable heavy with unspoken truths he wasn't ready to face.

Slowly, almost reluctantly, he turned to face Jin, his eyes wide with a mix of confusion and fear. "What...what did you just say?" he whispered, his voice barely audible, as though saying it louder would make the question too real.
