THE HELPERS

There i stood in the middle of the deserted road again, the only thing i saw was the deserted road. The road stood still silently and nothing dared to move. Suddenly, a screeching sound and the blaring of horns in the distance attracted my attention. I looked at the truck and to my surprise saw my mother driving the truck with an evil grin on her face. I tried to move but i couldn't. As the truck kept approaching me, someone pushed me across the street to safety. That's when i woke up.

I sat on a chair in the back of a dark room. The only light that filled the room was a candle on a stool. " hello ellie" the stranger spoke. "who are you and how do you know my name?!?!" i asked frightened. " i have known you for a very long time now" the stranger said. " and my identity doesn't concern you!" he said loudly.

" don't worry" he spoke. " we won't hurt you at all" "in fact we are here to make your life better" he said softly. I noticed he said we that meant there were more of them. " how can you make my life better? And anyways there is nothing wrong with my life!" i lied. " we know everything ellie you can't just lie to us!" the man with the harsh voice spoke. "Let us tell you our names". "My name is mark" the man with the soft voice said. "my name is buzz" said the man with the harsh voice. The name Mark seemed familiar to me.

" ellie i know you have been having weird nightmares " mark spoke softly. " and i know you have been having these nightmares since you were small" he continued. " we only want to make you feel better " " trust me" he said softly. " we need you tell us everything that has happened to you till now and we will let you go, that is if you promise to keep coming here and tell us whatever happens to you" mark added. " sure! " " as long as it gets me out of here!!" i remarked. I told mark and buzz about my mother saying horrible things to me, emily turning against me and janie humiliating me infront of everyone.

They drove me back to my house and surprisingly they knew my address. Creepy. I knocked on the door and my mother appeared at the door. " hey ellie!" " back so soon??" " i thought you would stay for more time" my mother said surprised. "It's 12:30 mother it isn't early!! " I thought. " well the party ended" i said instead. I heard the sofa move from the living room. My mother's eyes widened and she began worrying. " well straight away go to bed, no tv for you at this time". I awkwardly nodded and went upstairs to bed though i did not sleep. I kept glancing at the door checking if my mother would come upstairs. I stared at the door for 1 hour then lost it.

I crept downstairs and peeked through the door to find my mother sitting on the couch across from a man. Thoughts began to circle my mind. I listened closely to their conversation. "so when will you get rid of her?" the man asked. " just be patient, you can wait for me isn't it??" my mother said like a little kid showing her puppy eyes to him. " yes i guess, if i love you i can wait for you to get rid of your mess..." He spoke. " my mother hugged him and he hugged her back. I knew what would happen next and decided i did not want to watch. I slowly went upstairs disgusted with my mother. I stayed still in my covers, underneath my blanket when the door opened.

" you horrible child" my mother's voice echoed in the room. " you almost blew my chances with greg!" she ranted on. I acted like i was asleep. " im worried sick here while you catch your sleep!!" " sleep all you can princess, you need practice for when you sleep.... forever!!!" she said. With that she went out of the room and banged it shut.

I took the covers off my head and took long breaths.who was greg? I guessed it was that man i saw in the living room with my mother. How could this be possible?!?? The woman who i thought loved me for 14 years actually hated me to death?!?! I had all my great memories with her !!

**FLASHBACK**

" Get on honey, don't worry mommies got you !!" my mother said.
" mommy in scared!" i said with fear.
" it's fine, i am right here!" she said with trust.
I get on the bicycle and start pedalling
My mother keeps her hands behind the bicycle and then lets go as i pedal fast and now i know how to ride a bicycle.

** END OF FLASHBACK**

I cried till my cheeks puffed and my eyes went red. My alarm clock rang telling me that it was time for school. I went to my bathroom and bathed and wore a black top, white jeans and black boots. I threw my hair back in a headband and hurried for school.
