The sun's rays spilled through the curtains, announcing the arrival of a serene July morning. Outside, the birds chirped in harmony, but inside Masha's home, peace reigned as Lucifer lay sprawled on the bed, completely lost in slumber. His long, silken white hair was spread across the pillow, glowing faintly in the morning light. His soft features, framed by his hair, looked angelic, and his even breathing gave the impression of pure tranquility.

Masha stood at the door, her arms crossed and a small smile playing on her lips. She watched him for a moment, debating how to wake him. Normally, she would've shaken him awake or loudly called his name, but something about the way he slept—so peacefully, so vulnerably—made her hesitate.

Walking closer, she knelt beside the bed and leaned in, examining his face. His soft, fair cheeks tempted her, and before she knew it, she gave into the impulse, poking one gently. His skin was warm, softer than she expected, and she unconsciously placed her own hand on her cheek, comparing the sensation.

"So soft," she murmured, a slight blush creeping onto her face.

Emboldened by his stillness, she let her fingertip trail to his hand, touching his palm lightly. But to her surprise, Lucifer's reflexes betrayed his apparent unconsciousness. Even in his sleep, he instinctively grabbed her finger.

Masha froze, eyes widening as she watched his fingers tighten around hers. His grip was warm but firm, and it made her heart flutter.

"He's like a baby," she thought with a chuckle. Her mind then wandered to a slightly mischievous idea. Smirking, she carefully guided his hand upward and placed it against her chest.

Lucifer murmured softly in his sleep, his hand reflexively squeezing. Masha let out a tiny, startled yelp, her cheeks turning bright red. That sound, however, seemed to rouse Lucifer from his slumber. His blue eyes fluttered open, bleary and confused.

"Masha?" he mumbled, voice husky with sleep. "What are you doing?"

Masha leaned back, still blushing but refusing to show guilt. "Waking you up," she said, feigning innocence.

Lucifer raised an eyebrow, though a playful smirk tugged at his lips. "That's one way to do it."

They both laughed, and the awkwardness dissipated as they headed to the kitchen for breakfast. Over toast and coffee, Masha glanced at Lucifer, who looked unusually carefree.

"Don't you have anything to study for the exams?" she asked, genuinely curious.

Lucifer leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms behind his head. "I finished all that last week," he said casually. "Now, I've got nothing to do."

Masha pouted. "Lucky you. I'm still drowning in material. Why don't you help me, then?"

Lucifer grinned. "Fine. But don't complain if my explanations are too advanced for you."

Masha rolled her eyes but smiled, and the two spent the next few hours sitting shoulder-to-shoulder in her room, books and notes spread across the table. Lucifer's calm and patient demeanor made studying easier for Masha, but his warmth and proximity also distracted her.

At one point, Lucifer leaned back, letting out a small yawn. Without a word, he rested his head on Masha's lap. She froze, startled by his sudden closeness, but the sight of his serene expression melted her hesitation.

"You really are like a baby sometimes," she whispered, brushing his hair away from his face. Slowly, she too leaned back, and the two of them drifted off to sleep, finding unexpected comfort in each other's presence.

The day of the exams arrived, and the school buzzed with anticipation. Students filled the hallways, some nervously reviewing their notes, others chatting animatedly to release their tension. As Lucifer entered, his presence commanded attention. With his delicate features, piercing blue eyes, and long white hair tied neatly, he looked almost ethereal. Many mistook him for a girl at first glance, but those who knew him understood his brilliance—and his sharp tongue.

"Lucifer!" a group of boys from his class called out, rushing over. "You ready to crush it again?!"

Lucifer offered a small smile. "It's just another exam," he said humbly, though his confidence was unmistakable.

As he made his way toward his classroom, a voice rang out, cutting through the chatter.

"Well, well, if it isn't the so-called genius."

Lucifer turned to see a boy from another class, tall and broad-shouldered, with an arrogant smirk plastered on his face. His name was Ethan, and he was infamous for his loud boasts and desperate attempts to outshine others.

"I've been waiting for this day," Ethan declared, folding his arms. "Today, I'm going to take the top spot and show everyone that you're nothing special."

The hallway fell silent as students turned to watch the exchange. Lucifer remained unfazed, his expression calm as ever.

"Is that so?" he replied, his tone neutral but laced with subtle amusement.

Ethan stepped closer, his voice rising. "You've been acting all high and mighty, but you're just a big fish in a small pond. This school isn't your kingdom, and I'm here to prove it."

Lucifer's blue eyes glinted as he finally spoke, his voice soft yet commanding enough to silence the crowd.

"The thing about the ocean," he began, "is that its depth remains unknown. But the sky... the sky's vastness is something I understand. I don't think I'm the best out of the seven billion people in this world. That would be foolish. But here?" He gestured around. "In this school, I'm not just a fish or a bird—I'm the storm that rules the skies."

A collective "Damn!" echoed through the hallway as his classmates cheered him on. Ethan's smirk faltered, but he quickly masked his embarrassment with a scoff.

"We'll see about that," he muttered before storming off.

The exams were grueling, but Lucifer breezed through them with a calm, focused demeanor. Masha, sitting a few seats away, noticed his confidence and felt reassured. By the end of the week, the results were out, and as expected, Lucifer had secured the top spot once again.

Ethan, meanwhile, was nowhere to be found, his pride evidently crushed by the results.

That evening, as the two sat down for dinner, Lucifer leaned back in his chair, stretching.

"See? All that stress for nothing," he teased, nudging Masha.

She stuck her tongue out at him. "Not all of us are walking encyclopedias."

Later, as they cleaned up, Lucifer accidentally walked in on Masha changing in her room. She gasped, quickly covering herself, but instead of reacting with embarrassment, she smirked.

"Enjoy the view?" she teased, her tone playful.

Lucifer turned bright red, averting his gaze. "I—uh—wasn't looking!"

Masha laughed, clearly enjoying his flustered reaction. "Sure, sure. Dinner and a show, huh?"

Their banter continued as they prepared for bed. Masha, still in a mischievous mood, insisted on washing Lucifer's hair during their shared bath. As she massaged the shampoo into his silky locks, he closed his eyes, clearly enjoying the attention.

"You really spoil me, don't you?" he murmured.

"Someone has to," she replied with a grin.

That night, as they lay in bed, Lucifer resting his head against her chest, Masha stroked his hair, her thoughts drifting.

"You're too good for this world, Lucifer," she whispered.

He didn't respond, already fast asleep.
