No Humanity In The Human

Days had passed since my Queen had perished. Not a second went by when I hadn't thought of her. It was an awful feeling to love someone so deeply, yet to never breathe the same air as them.

My sorrow could not be contained. The loss of purpose in my heart was too deep to be closed. I'd never experienced this before. Then came that darn baby. It hasn't moved. It just stares at me, with that grin on its face.

Kasim then barged into the room. Giving his condolences, then his attention quickly turned.
"Now...where is this baby I've heard so much about?"
"Huh? How do you know about the baby?"
"Oh, you poor child. How could a king be so foolish? You poor poor thing."
There was a reason why she was created. How she was created is the right question.
"How did you create my Queen? How did you trick me?"
"Why...I'd be dumb to tell you. This baby of yours, and yes. You helped create this thing. Don't ever forget it. Is the very thing that will bring your downfall boy."
Every hair on my body stood up straight. My heart beat fast and hard. Ears ringing loudly. I fell to the ground.

My eyes open up. All over the room there are black lines all over the walls. To me, it looks like veins. It's almost...like the castle has become an organism. I searched for the baby but could not find it. Kasim must have it, I thought to myself.
"What have I done? In the solitude I once forsaked, I now stand in it once again. The search for company has led me to the edge. My blood boils. For I have been tricked, but yet I can't do anything about it."
There's a knock at the door

"Hello? Sir? Are you in there? You have to come out and see this. An awful sight it is."
I opened the door to an awfully young looking soldier.
"Sir, down the hall. Come, follow me"
I followed and what I saw was truly an awful sight. All over the walls there were bodies, all of them marked with black veins. Where their eyes were supposed to be, there were what seemed white balls. The black goo from before was all over their bodies, the only thing you could see was their faces.
"I don't know how this happened. I was walking in front of your door then suddenly I was knocked out, woke up to this sight. I was terrified at this sight. Peed my pants a little, but uh, don't" mention that to anybody."
This kid, he must have died at a young age to be in this sort of place. I feel terribly for him.
"Don't worry, I'll get us through this. For I am not The Gypsy King for nothing."
I had said so foolishly.

We went into the next room. There in the middle of the room stood a 8 foot creature from which could have only come from the nightmares of a mad man. Its eyes teemed with bloodlust. Staring deep into my soul I could tell this did not see me as anything more than food. It was not malicious, merely instinctual. I quickly ran back into the last room, the kid quickly running behind me. As I ran I could feel every step the creature took. It was quick and heavy. I looked behind us to find that the creature was catching up, quickly. Luckily on the ground there was a spear from one of the soldiers.

I grabbed it and turned around and stood my ground. The giant creature had the same physical anatomy of a human, but none of the humanity. Its mouth was buried deep into the kid's arm. I ran and drove the spear into its eye. A loud scream came out of it. My ears started ringing, I couldn't hear anything. Looked around for another weapon but saw that the creature started running towards me. Copious amounts of blood started pouring out of its eye. The only thing I could think of doing was to run towards it. That's when the kid found another spear and drove it through its heart. The creature slowly got slower. Perhaps in this moment the creature changed his mindset from hunting for food, to fighting for the sake of death. To merely survive, it wanted nothing less than everything to thrive.

The creature grew hair all over its body, signifying old age. Then all of the hair fell off from it. Turning smaller, yet still massive. Its wounds somehow healed back. Restarting our progress on the thing. Now that it had no hair we could see what it was. A tall slender human-like thing, with giant red eyes. No mouth, No nose, nothing but the eyes, red as blood.

It launched itself at us, as if he was expecting to die. The Kid had a look in his eyes that were burned with courage. He was no kid, but a monster in his own regard. Screaming at the top of his lungs. Both of us with spears in hand, I screamed too. Life had never felt like this before. It felt amazing. Somehow, there was a smile on me. I..somehow knew I was going to kill this thing. The spears driving deep into the hideous creature. Sending it back to wherever it came from. We had aimed for the legs, it dropped to the ground, hard.

Even though it was on the ground, it was still alive. It screeched till our ears bled. No longer did I feel joy. Pain, I had never felt this kind of pain. Terrible it was, I hated it. We kicked its face in till it stopped. For at least a minute it wouldn't die. Hideous things have a tenacity to live.

We passed out from the pain.
