Part Thirty Seven

At ten o'clock the next morning, Madam Khadija arrived with her daughter Salma to Al-Salam International Hospital, in order to check on Dr. Nadia, and he had traveled back to his work in the Assiut Security Directorate.When they arrived at the intensive care room, they found Nahed, Youssef, and Hoda sitting on a sofa in front of the room.

Madam Khadija and her daughter Salma greeted Youssef, Nahed, and Hoda.

Khadija: How is Dr. Nadia Youssef?

Youssef: He looked at Madam Khadija and was all affected by his mother's sick condition.

He said, "By God, Mama Khadija, that Mama Majida is now in God's hands, and we are praying for her day and night that our Lord will grant her a speedy and complete recovery."

Khadija: Oh God, Amen. Oh God, we ask you to heal Dr. Nadia from every illness that afflicted her, and to grant her safety and security, Lord of the Worlds.

Then Youssef took Madam Khadija's hand and made her sit on a sofa across from them, and Salma sat next to Nahid and Hadi on the other sofa.

Khadija: How dare he meet Dr. Nadia when she is still recovering from the angina pectoris that struck her recently.

Doesn't he know that the angina patient must stay away from any emotions? But what can we say? He is a person who has no morals and is an opportunist.

He puts his own interests above the interests of others.

Youssef: He grits his teeth in anger, and by God, if I saw him in front of me, I would kill him.

Khadija: Do not hold Youssef, my son, and do not let the law take its course with this cursed person.

After a short while, Officer Wael Al-Bahtimi, the investigations officer, came to the hospital to meet Youssef and check on the condition of Dr. Nadia.

He met Youssef and greeted them all, and even kissed Madam Khadija's hand.

Here, both Youssef and Nahid were astonished, and were guided by the action of the investigations officer, Wael. Al-Bahtimi was about to kiss Madam Khadija's hand, and when Wael saw the astonishment on their faces, he went to them and then said to them, "Excuse me. I got engaged yesterday and asked for Salma's hand from Mama Khadija and her son, Officer Khaled.

Then he went on to say, I am sorry that it took place in difficult circumstances, and we would not have known had it not been for Youssef calling me yesterday.

Youssef: He patted Wael Al-Bahtimi's hand and said, "Never mind, and a thousand million congratulations." Nahid and Hoda did the same with Salma and they said to her, "A thousand million congratulations."

Youssef takes Wael Al-Bahtimi and they sit on a sofa a little away from the rest of the audience, then he speaks, saying...

Youssef: What is the latest news?

Wael Al-Bahtimi: The news is very reassuring, that Samir Khairat is still inside the country but has disappeared somewhere, and I have prepared measures that will serve the case and allow Samir Khairat to enter prison.

Youssef: Oh, if I saw that cursed devil, Samir Khairat Yacoub, I would kill him a thousand times over.

Wael Al-Bahtimi: By the way, I do not like this way of dealing, because the country has a law that you will accept and be satisfied with, God willing.

Youssef: How can this be done when he put my mother in danger while she is still suffering from the effects of the angina she suffered recently?
