Rinnnnnnnggggggggg
I jumped up as I heard my phone go off. I looked at the caller ID and it was unknown. I answered the phone, who's calling me at 8 in the morning?
"Hello?" I asked hesitantly.
"I know where you are. You're not going to survive this accident."
Before I can ask anything else, the call ended. I opened my call log and saw the call wasn't there. Was I just threatened? Me?
Heck no. I ran into Shawn's room and saw he was still asleep. Should I wake him up? I mean that was a serious phone call. Won't survive this accident? He emphasized accident. Maybe my crash wasn't an accident?
I walked to Shawn's bed and moved him slightly. "Shawn wake up I need to talk to you." Shawn stirred awake, and he rubbed his eyes.
"Are you ok Jamie?" I nodded and he pulled me by his side. He sat up straight. "Shawn, I just got a phone call from an anonymous number. The guy said he knows where I am and he's not going to let me survive this accident. He emphasized accident as if it was a code word. Shawn maybe that car crash wasn't an accident!"
Shawn's eyes were alarming, cautious, scared. "Did the phone call save into your log?" I shook my head no. "Danget! I knew that wasn't just an accident Jamie. I tried telling the doctors it was a hit and run. They didn't believe me. Jamie, they called you off a throw away phone."
Hit and run? Not an accident?
I blinked awake, and noticed I had a tube down my throat! What the heck? Ok...? Did I fall asleep with something in my mouth? I don't think so, at least I can't remember. Uh, anyone gonna help me? Ah, a nurse, how nice. Wait?! Nurse? She removed the tube from my throat, finally I can speak. "Can I have some water?" I asked, my voice came out really raspy. Why am I in the hospital? The nurse came back with a cup full of water, and helped me drink it.
"Ok miss, what's your name?" She asked me, what is my name? Ummm, I'm named after a singer I remember that. It starts with a G? No wait, J!
"J-Jamie?" I asked questioning because, I really don't remember. The nurse nodded and wrote it down on the computer. "Age?" Oh! I know this one, I am a senior at what's that school's name? Waldon yes! "I'm eight-teen! I'm a shenior at Waldon A-academy." The nurse bit her lip, I knew something was wrong with that, but why didn't she say anything? Ugh nurses are so complicated.
"When's you're birthday?" Is it March? Or November? I can't remember. I knew it was in the month of a holiday, but then again holidays are in every month. "I-I don't remember." The nurse nodded and wrote something down again. "Move your right arm." She demanded, which one is my right? I thought for a second, uh-oh, this cannot be good. I moved the one I thought was my right and the nurse shook her head. I guess the other one is my right. "Do you remember your rights and lefts?" She asked me, I sheepishly shook my head no.
"Well, that's normal. Can you repeat this sentence: Molly ate three apples, Jack ate seven apples, and Hugo ate eight pears." Ok? I can repeat things I'm not two. "M-molly uh, she um can you repeat that?" The nurse nodded again. It took about 12 minutes for me to repeat the whole statement. "I'm going to go call the Doctor and I'll be right back. Stay right there." Not that I can move or anything, I mean I am like connected to three IV's.
"Good morning Miss Jamie! I'm Dr. Macho, your primary doctor. You're probably wondering what the heck is going on, well I can tell you. You were on your way to your dance recital awards banquet, and you got hit by a car. On impact, you flew out the car and into the windshield, hitting your head on the lamp post. You were unconscience when we got there, but luckily we were able to save you. You had two broken ribs, you had a brain aneurysm, broken arm, broken leg, and a kidney rupture. Of course the kidney rupture wasn't from the accident, it happened while you were in the hospital due to your state of health.
