Side story

Three years ago

Bin is looking at their house and he feels so empty while looking at their bedroom. He sit on their bed and take Yejin's favorite pillow and hug it. He smell on it Yejin's fragrance that leaves on the pillow.

The petition on their divorce has been granted by the court.

"I'm sorry..." He whispered. In the middle of his crying he heard a continuous knock on the door and the doorbell rings.

He got startled to see Eun Byeol standing i front of it.

Eun Byeol immediately went inside and take out the envelope from her bag.

She put it on the table. It was the lab test results of Bin.

"Is this the reason why you and Eonnie got divorced?" She said. Bin didn't speak and take a bottle of water on the fridge.

"Yah, Oppa! Did she left you because you're sick?" Eun Byeol said as she trying to find out the reason of their divorce. "If you didn't answer me I'm gonna call her." She said to make him confess.

"No!" Bin immediately answer. He turn around to look at her. "How did you found out about this?" He asked.

Eun Byeol stand infront of him. "I throw a question first. Now tell me, Is this the reason why you got divorced?" She asked.

Bin let out a deep sigh. "Yejin didn't know anything..." He said. Eun Byeol frowned. "You mean, she didn't know your sick?" She said. Bin nodded, "that's for the better, Eun Byeol so please just keep this a secret even to our mother and Halabeoji." He said.

"Wae? Why you have to do this?" She said. "You must tell us about your condition and especially to Eonnie." Eun Byeol said.  "Did you know how hard for her to let you go? I heard from Suk Hwi, she's crying all night." Eun Byeol said. Bin clench his fist but he didn't speak.

"Oppa!" Eun Byeol said. "I'm gonna die or if I chose to live and have a surgery, I will be a burden to her and worst I couldn't remember her." He said. "I don't want her to live in pain or to see me suffering like this so I have to let her go. I have to give her the life that she deserve. A happy life." He cried. "If she's continue to stay with me. It will be hard for her and she will be living miserable... I don't want it to happen so I decided to let her go." Bin said.

His tears started to fill his eyes. "I want her to live her life without me because I couldn't give that life for her anymore because of this sickness." He cried. "Did you ask her what is the meaning of a happy life for her?" Eun Byeol said.  Bin look at her. "I'm sorry to say this, but you're being so  stupid to let her go and push her away like what you did, Oppa." Eun Byeol said.

"I'm so disappointed to you, Oppa. I thought you really love her. I thought you really know everything about her but you're not." Eun Byeol said. "You only hurt my best friend and the person who really love you the most." She added.

"Stop it Eun Byeol!" He said. "No, Im not! I will tell everything that I knew to make you feel regret on your decision." She said.

Eun Byeol wipe her tears. "Staying beside you through ups and down and living as your wife and as a mother of your kids... That's the definition of a  happy life for her." Eun Byeol said.

"I know... Because everytime she get drunk since then, she's always telling me that and I'm so happy to know that there's someone will love you like she does." She added.

Bin cries as he silently listening to his sister. "But look what you did? You never gave her a chance to have that life. Oppa, you broke her simple dream and that dream is always revolves on you." She cried.
