After taking a rest in the Pokemon center I headed over to the Pokemart to buy some pokeballs and other useful items. After grabbing Potions and a few pokeballs with the money I had, I started to head east but a man stopped me.
"Hey! Don't walk any further! I just found foot prints of a rare pokemon! i want to sketch them!"
"Oh.. sorry." I apologized and headed north to route 103.
I wandered to the top of the route, battle a few wild pokemon along the way, to find Ruby near a small pond.
"Hey Ruby."
Ruby turned around and faced me.
"Hey Rin! The Prof. told me you got not just one, but two pokemon from him!" He looked slightly amused.
"Yea, I was battling a Poochyena that was attacking the Prof. when another attacked my Treecko. i ended up throwing out a Mudkip as well..." I explained what happened.
Ruby laughed at the explaination.
"Since you got some pokemon, you wanna try battling? The Prof. sent me the Torchic into my PC earlier." Ruby grabbed a pokeball from his belt and sent out the torchic.
"Sure why not?" I grabbed Mudkip pokeball and sent him out into battle and put Treecko on the side to watch his friend battle.
"Alright Torchic, use growl to lower his attack!" Ruby commanded.
Torchic gave slightly menacing little peeps towards Mudkip, lowering his attack.
"Mudkip use Tackle!"Mudkip ran at Ruby's Torchic, knocking it to the ground.
I tried being fair and use normal type moves due to Torchic's disadvantage.
"Torchic use scratch while he's close!" Torchis clawed at Mudkip using it's tiny clawed feet before Mudkip could get away.
"Tackle again!" Mudkip backed up and charged forward into Torchic again, this time Torchic stayed upright.
"Scratch!" Torchic jumped up and scratched Mudkip on his head fin.
I could tell the torchic was getting low on health, it was getting wobbly when it moved.
"Mudkip use tackle again! Knock it out!" Mudkip charged again this time knocking Torchic down and out.
Mudkip kipped happily and i kneeled down to pet him, congratulating him. Treecko also came over and gave his friend a pat on the back. ruby returned his Torchic.
"Nice battle Rin! Your Mudkip is really strong!" Ruby bent down and patted Mudkip's head and pulled out a potion. "Here lemme patch you up." Ruby sprayed Mudkip's injuries to heal them.
Mudkip kipped again and ruby laughed, making me laugh too.
"We should head back to the lab, the Prof. has to give you something before you can go be a trainer."
I nodded and we headed back through the Routes and back to Little Root town.
