Let's get something straight- I am not some creepy, weird girl who sits alone in her moms basement writing a blog on serial killers and the villains of classic horror movies. I have a life, I have friends- I'm not insane. But then again, I did move to Lakewood.
Closing my laptop that held bold print stating that this was my blog "The Last Scream" I let out a frustrated groan. Today was Monday, tomorrow, my mom expected my to walk into the doors of the high school- head held high, and not flinch as I was called the new girl. Of course, I had wanted to move here, I mean come on? Serial killer past, it's psychotic killer obsessed nerd haven. My mom hadn't said much of why we moved, she just told me it was to get closer to her sister. I went with it, not asking to many questions. Me and my cousin never really got along, in my honest opinion, she was a grade A bitch... I would be highly disappointed if I didn't score that high in her book as well.
Standing from my computer desk, I huddled onto my bed, taking my laptop with me and opening Netflix. If I had to go to a new school tomorrow, I needed some movie-killer confidence. Searching through my watch list, I decided to stick with the basic horror movie.
"Nightmare on Elm Street it is, just sit back and relax Vex." Plugging in the headphones, I sat back against my pillow just as my phone began to ring. A frustrated groan escaped my lips as I pushed the laptop away, reaching over to grab my phone plugged in on the nightstand. I was surprised to see that the number said Unknown. Chuckling lightly to myself, I pressed the answer button.
"Hello?" I said, looking out the single window in the corner of my room. It looked out over our small but reasonable front yard. Beside it held my small floor lamp that barely reached my waist, though when turned on, could blind just about anyone.
"Hello?" The voice whispered back at me. I had to stop myself from laughing as I heard the voice, it was a classic voice app used to scare the shit out of people, I wouldn't fall for this.
"Oh, is this the part where you tell me how absolutely beautiful I look. Then, I walk to the window and there is no one there, only for me to turn around and you be coming out of my closet? Nice try asshole, call someone else if you want a good laugh." I heard a dammit on the other line, confirming my suspicion. I heard the button click before I pulled the phone away, the call had been ended.
"Jackasses." I muttered, walking back over to plug in my phone before crawling back into bed. Looking at the clock, I noticed how it was only 8:30, not even close to the usual time I go to bed.
"Ah, screw it." I muttered. Gently setting the laptop on the floor, I rolled over, clicking off my night lamp before snuggling deeper under the covers. It was going to be a long night.

This morning had been rough, I had struggled with just about everything. Yeah, I was a major nerd and mostly preferred to stay inside, but man, could I dress. I had chosen a white crop top with #gameon on the front, my favorite pair of black leather skinny pants and my high rise black and white converses as well as a plaid red shirt that tied around my waist. I curled my hair at the ends and added some moose to make it wavy, but other than that, I left it alone. No make-up of course. I could dress up just fine, make-up made me feel like a plastic barbie doll. We weren't rich or anything (okay, maybe just a little). I always had good clothes, plenty of food... and I had a nice, big black truck that I had gotten with my license.
Now, I was in my truck, pulling into the school parking lot and I felt like having a heart attack. At my old school, I hadn't fit in well with others. At first, they thought I was okay, then, once they learned about my strange killer obsession- well it didn't end well. My eyes widened as I noticed that everyone was looking at my truck, each of them staring at my tinted windows; trying to figure out what I looked like. Letting in a deep breath, I said my words of confidence before opening the door and hopping out.
