26. A Road to Downhill

Chanyeol knew he was close to success. He made Kyungsoo to tell a lie to Shinjung. He knows his rival is stupid and would make foolish decisions. Since he has promised himself to not turn to any illegal business, he will let the legal system deal with this.

"By tomorrow, he will no longer be that Shinjung. Just hang on a bit Baekhyun."

On the other hand, Shinjung day was running blissfully. Because for him, he has achieved what he ever wanted. After completing his work in office. He arrived at his Penthouse, after having dinner, he switched on Television to watch some news and if possible any other program.

After seeing the news,he spranged up. His eyes widened with shock with news before him.

"Shinjung, heir of lee enterprises caught up in having affair with a married actress."

He was also not ready to digest that shock when he heard a bell. His secretary was on the line.

"Boss, everywhere is your news. What will we do?"

Shinjung didn't answered, he hang up on him. He poured some alcohol on his glass as he himself know how much trouble he has caused himself. His father wouldn't leave like this.

The next day....

Shinjung was standing in front of his father who was screaming at him.

"What the hell?!! Just!! What were you thinking at the time when you were having an affair and that too with a married actress, it would be alright if she was not married... But just why?? Scandals like this are like a tag behind name, they always cover your good deeds and success. That's why I told you to keep your name clear bit you didn't listened. Now it's all over. I can't entrust my conpany to you. I will not even give you a single penny. Your sister would have everything."

"But father..."

"You have disgraced yourself and your family."

The heated conversation was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"You can come in." Shinjung's father said.

"Sir, we have come across a grave trouble. We are out of money."

"What the hell are you speaking?"

"I am speaking the truth sir. After yesterday's scandal, the stocks have dropped. 6 of our clients have cancelled our deal. Also, last week, investments in 4 deals have consecutively done which resulted in huge amount of money."

"Ahh!! Shinjung!! Just see What you have done." Shinjung's father screamed at him.

"Sir, one more thing."

"Now what?"

"Sir has an arrest warrant as they had made illegal investment in project regarding casino business, it is against government policies, a notice had been arrived the day before but no reply hence the arrest warrant has been issued."

Shinjung was crying by now.

"Please father!!! Save me. I know your connections are deeper just made me out of this all."

"Why would I? You are a nuisance anyway. I went to a business trip for a month and you changed the course of action in this way. You have caused severe economic damages to us. Proceed with your dealing your way. I will not help you at all."

At police custody. .....

Shinjung was being interrogated.

"I think, we should stop for few minutes. Someone has arrived and he wishes to meet you."

For a moment, he was happy thinking his own father is here to help him but was thrilled to see the face infront of him.

"Chanyeol..."

"How are you? This days must been difficult for you." Said Chanyeol smirking at him.

"Sir, you can go. I want to have some word with him." He continued.

After he left, Chanyeol clapped his hands and laughed quite evily.

"I knew from the start that you were jealous of me and couldn't imagine that you watched my every step. You even discovered my family's secret but it is of no use as you name has more mud than mine. I even made you sign an illegal contract against governmental policies with the help of Kyungsoo.... And the affair.. How I can forget that, it was me who revealed your photos to press. Your foolish decision to invest in 4 deals at once made your company go bankrupt for a while. You father.. Has disowned you right?"

"So this was all your doings?"

"Yes, I treated you Nothing for me you were nothing but the moment you shot gun at Baekhyun, I promised myself to make you pay for that. You have lost your reputation and identity now you are no one not even Shinjung. "

With that he walked away.

The court proceedings went for three days and Shinjung has been jailed for 5 years.

Chanyeol walked out of the court building. He closed his eyes and took a long breath. He is starting a new beginning with the love of his life. He isn't whether it would b sweet or bitter but since he has Baekhyun by his side he is not afraid of anything.

"Baekhyun.. I am coming for you. Everything is over now. We will go back to how we were even better than that.
I love you, Baekhyun."
