I was so glad that the meeting with the thieves didn’t end with bloodshed. The forest opened after a while and in front of us was a stone with a sword stuck in it.
“Excalibur” Arthur was both awestruck and surprised in his voice.
Guenevere looked at him.
“Well try to draw it out.”
“I feel like I should do something first”
Suddenly I remembered what he told me
“To draw Excalibur, you need: Freedom, joy, and responsibility. During this trip you have held your responsibilities with searching for Excalibur but maybe you also have become free with being able to go places. Bravery, courage, and strength. When you draw it, you need to have bravery, and courage that it will work. Leadership, mercy, and collaboration. You have led us her, you have followed some advice, and I don’t know about mercy, but you dint kill the thieves. Knowledge, creativity, and resourcefulness, to get here you needed to be resourceful, and listen too other people’s knowledge. Love, empathy and compassion. You helped me even though your hade to make your trip for the sword longer. Try to draw the sword, Arthur.
“Thanks Lance. I needed that”
Arthur walked towards the stone. He took a deep breath before he puted his hands around the sword handle.
“So, I am not the true king.”
I was surprised didn’t Arthur have a prophecy that he would pull the sword and connect the kingdoms. So why didn’t it work?
“Maybe you miss something. You can come back later”
“Thanks Guinevere, but I don’t think I am the one that will pull this sword.”
