Chapter 28:

The kitchen door creaked open, and Aaira barely had time to compose herself before Jungkook stepped inside. His gaze immediately fell on her, but then his eyes trailed down to her arms, noticing the raw, bleeding scratches marring her pale skin. His face twisted in shock, and his eyes widened with a mixture of horror and concern.

Jungkook: “Aaira,”

Jungkook: “Aaira,”

He breathed, rushing to her side. His movements were swift and panicked, his hands reaching out to take hold of hers.

Jungkook: “What the hell did you do to your hands?”

But before he could touch her, she pulled back violently, cradling her arms against her chest.

Aaira: “Don’t touch me!”

She shouted, her voice sharp and filled with venom. Jungkook froze for a second, but then his expression hardened.

Jungkook: “Shut up!”

He barked, his voice trembling slightly, betraying his emotions.

Jungkook: “What did you do to your hands, Aaira?”

She glared at him, her body trembling with anger and frustration.

Aaira: “Why do you care?”

She spat.

Aaira: “Just leave me alone!”

But Jungkook wasn’t listening. His eyes zeroed in on the blood dripping from her scratches, and with a forceful determination, he grabbed her wrist.

Aaira: “Stop it!”

She yelled, trying to yank her hand away, but his grip was too strong. The pressure he applied made the scratches bleed even more, and she hissed in pain. Her sharp intake of breath made him flinch. He immediately loosened his hold, his eyes widening in guilt as he stared at the fresh blood on her arms.

Jungkook: “Shit,”

He muttered under his breath.

Jungkook: “I’m sorry—I didn’t mean to—”

Aaira pulled her arm back, cradling it protectively. But Jungkook didn’t back away this time. He carefully reached for her hand again, his touch gentle now, as if afraid she would shatter under his fingertips.

Jungkook: “Let me see,”

He said softly, his voice trembling. When she didn’t resist, he lightly held her wrists, inspecting the angry red marks and oozing scratches. His jaw tightened, and he swallowed hard, his throat bobbing visibly.

Without another word, Jungkook stood and grabbed her by the wrist again, not roughly, but firmly enough to make it clear she wasn’t going to resist him. He dragged her out of the kitchen, ignoring her protests and struggles, and led her upstairs to the first-floor bathroom.
