I looked around as we slowly walked through the town.
It seemed like the whole city was under a dark cloud. Everything was abandoned. The houses windows and doors were boarded up. The grass, or lack of it, was yellow and dry. There was no sign of humans or animals anywhere. There was no sound. Just an eerie silence. We found the church but it was also boarded up and the boards wouldn't budge.
TWO HOURS LATER
I was ready to give up hope. We all were. I looked behind me to speak to Mum and Josh, only to find, they weren't there. I began to panic.
"Mum?" I screamed "Josh?"
I listened carefully but all I heard was silence. I fell to the floor and cried.
