╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*══╝You sit at a desk in the ship's cabin, sunlight streaming through the round porthole, casting golden light across the wooden walls. The gentle sway of the ship sets the ink bottle trembling slightly, the creak of the hull blending with muffled voices from the deck above.
In front of you lies a half-written letter, your handwriting trailing across the paper in thoughtful strokes. Ink stains smudge your fingers, faint marks of the time spent crafting your reply. Beside it rests the folded letter you received earlier, its creases soft from being opened and read again and again, the words etched firmly in your memory.
A salty breeze stirs the edges of the paper, and you press it flat, your hand leaving a faint smudge where the ink hasn't yet dried. Outside, the ship hums with life, but here in the cabin, it feels as though time has paused.
You lift the quill and continue writing, each word deliberate, a piece of yourself sent across the distance to someone whose reply you'll wait for with quiet certainty.
The door creaks open, and a figure steps in, the warm sunlight catching on long red hair that falls like a cascade over their shoulders.
Nami leans against the doorframe, her eyes narrowing slightly as she takes in the scene. It's been a few weeks now since you started writing these letters, a habit that's quickly become a part of your routine. She watches the ink flow across the paper, a thoughtful look crossing her face before she speaks, her voice light but laced with curiosity. "You've been writing a lot lately..." Nami says, the words slow as she gathers her thoughts. Her gaze flickers between you and the letter. "Who's it to? You've been kind of secretive about it."
You look up at Nami, offering a smile that hints at mischief. The sudden change in tone catches her attention, and her eyes light up with curiosity.
"Let's play a game," you say, your voice light and teasing, just enough to spark her interest.
Nami raises an eyebrow, the playful glint in her eyes growing sharper. "Oh?" she asks, intrigued. Without missing a beat, she leaps onto her bed, bouncing slightly as she lands, clearly eager to jump into whatever challenge you've got in mind. Her full attention's on you, waiting for you to explain the rules of your mysterious game. "Alright, I'm all in. What's the game?"
"You can ask three questions. Not about the physique, though—that would be too easy. And only questions where the answer is yes or no. You up for the challenge, girlie pop?"
"Oh, I'm so up for it," she says, her expression a mix of determination and amusement. "You're on, (y/n). I'll have you spilling secrets in no time." She kept going, thinking out loud. "It wouldn't be someone from our crew. You wouldn't bother to write letters otherwise, would you? I mean, we're all here with you." She pauses, her gaze sharpening as she looks at you with a knowing expression. "So that already shortens the search quite a bit," she muses, clearly pleased with herself for connecting the dots.
"So," she starts, tapping her finger against her chin as she thinks, "Do they have a signature weapon?"
You nod, your gaze briefly drifting to the side, trying to keep your expression neutral.
