War, violence, and natural disasters have split North America in three: Central, Secondary Ring, and Outer Ring. To other nations, the United Sectors is a successful country. But only to other nations. The three sectors are barriers of poverty and inequality that are nearly impossible to escape.

Central

Central, which is located in the middle of the country, is the smallest and most impoverished sector. Hunger, crime, and despair band together against the civilians of Central, starving others and keeping others alive enough so they can perform their bitter work for low wages. Central is known as the home of corrupt TKs and the (literally) underground crime organization known as The Phylum.

Secondary Ring

Secondary is the second most successful sector of the United Sectors. It is home to the majority of businesses: insurance, law, clothing, etc. Secondary is the middle class of the United Sectors.

Outer Ring

The Outer Ring is the last sector of the United Sectors and it is by far the most prosperous. It is nicknamed the "Ring of Consumers" in the other sectors, because that's exactly what it is. Rich men and women, many of whom are involved in illegal businesses, own houses of exorbitant size. The government is stationed here, willingly blind to the financial need of the other sectors.

The Government on TKs

Though the United Sectors is breaking apart, there is one string that unites all the sectors: a hatred for TKs. The government goes through great lengths to preserve this string, despite their knowledge that the Phylum isn't behind the vicious crimes in Central. Propaganda brainwashes the minds of many, their need to have an object of blame satisfied. The government ignores the crimes and the actual ones behind it since it is keeping the country afloat. In fact, some of the crimes are government-organized.

The government not only blames TKs for crimes, they also bag them. At first this was not legal, but after the Aggressive Telekinetic Bill (ATK Bill) is passed, it is. The bill also labels TKs as dangerous weapons that belong to the government. If you are tested positive for the TK gene, then you are sent to the high-tec labs of Outer Ring to get your memories wiped and your loyalties changed to favor the Rings.

Slang:

United: Another name for the United Sectors

US: Another name for the United Sectors

Mentors: The name for the teachers in the Phylum. Also used in place of the term Ego since many in the Phylum find it offensive.

Old world/Old times: Usually referring to the 21rst century. Known as the time before the three sectors, and the time before complex technology was invented.

Students: TKs who are newly initiated and learning how to harness their telekinetic abilities.

Gunblades: The weapon most often used by the US's police. It shoots like a gun but can also be used as a melee weapon if necessary. A sharp knife attached to the top of it can be extracted or retracted at will.

M.I.T.s/Mits: Mentors-In-Training. Kids with other powers that are being taught by mentors to become mentors.

The Rings: Referring to the Secondary and Outer Rings as a whole. This doesn't include Central.

Egos: Police officers with super abilities. They are known as the "supreme people", what humanity strives to evolve to. Within the Phylum they are scorned, they are known as malleable minds fighting on the wrong side. Outside the Phylum, Egos are revered and adored. No Egos will have telekinetic abilities.

TKs: Evolved people with telekinetic abilities. They are more advanced physically than humans, but less advanced physically to Egos. In the Phylum, they are considered powerful assets. Outside of the Phylum, they are known as imps who cause trouble and crime. They are viciously persecuted even if they haven't committed a crime or are unaware of their abilities.

The Phylum: Thought to be a powerful crime organization in the United Sectors. However, the Phylum is actually a school for TKs to be kept safe and to improve their powers.
