Year 2065
Being a TK was a problem. A problem that couldn't be corrected or changed, so the only way to erase it from existence was to exterminate it. At first, I didn't know I was one. Most TKs never know about their telekinetic abilities, but the ones that did caused trouble. They were infamous criminals known for robbing banks, causing trouble, and running an underground crime scene known as the Phylum. As far as most people were concerned: there are no 'good' TKs. The moral way had been tried multiple times. All that had come of it were people spending unreal amounts of money on fake cures. Nothing changed. Crime ran, or floated, through the streets.
However, the TKs were not alone. Other humans had developed abilities, stronger abilities. Abilities that were unique. They were held in an admired glory. They were the police's guardian angels. They kept the ratio of crime and justice even. They were the faces plastered across children's bedrooms. The Egos. It didn't seem like an endearing term, but it had somehow stuck. Their abilities ranged in a spectacular spectrum, from flying to gravity bending. They did the exterminating.
I was the exterminated.

Note from the author: My chapters are going to vary in size from short to medium size because that's really how I write. This won't be a love story, there are enough of those out there. The places will be described better in later chapters I *promise*. I might write an entirely different post describing locations just because I'm afraid I won't be descriptive enough.
Love always,
Veronica
