A few days had passed since the tense fight, and Bitna was still in a cold war with her Dad. Refusing to talk and avoiding him.
She wants to forget about everything but the weirdo lady is making it hard to forget, at times she asks if there may be hidden truths she has in stored for her.
All her life no one has given her a detailed explanation of what happened, she only has her hate and the blurry stuck-up memory.
'What could be the truth?'
That has remained the most asked question on her mind lately. She wanted to know the reason why her dad was blatantly refusing her to play.
She sighed for the nth time, angrily closing her book. Every attempt to concentrate and study was to no avail.
"Hey Bitna," Jungkook's voice resonated from the door.
She looked up giving him a tight forced smile.
"What's wrong? " He asked with a furrowed brow noticing her mood. His eyes scanned the table seeing her books scattered around.
"Having trouble studying?" He asked sitting on the opposite chair.
"Not really, I can't seem to concentrate lately" She mumbled laying back on the armchair.
"Why? Is there something bothering you?" He asked placing down the banana milk he was sipping.
She bit her lower lips stopping herself from spilling everything on her mind.
"Nothing Kook! I'm good, why are you here?" She asked diverting the question.
Jungkook sighed with a nod, "Ahh Hyung said that dinner will be ready in a few, you should freshen up and come down for dinner"
Bitna slightly nodded, picked up her book and slowly flipped the pages. "Is he there?" She mumbled not staring away from the book.
"Who? You mean Dad?"
"Yes!" She low-key nodded.
"Mom and Dad are not back yet"
She nodded suddenly feeling relaxed.
"How long will you keep avoiding him?" Jungkook asked his eyes fixated on her.
"Am not" She disagreed
"Yes, you are" Jungkook argued back.
"I am not avoiding him" She stood up slamming the book shut.
"You are" He continued.
"And what's wrong if I am?" She couldn't help when her voice raised. "Are you going to find a point and blame me for being an unthoughtful daughter who keeps a grudge against her father?"
"Of course not, I was just concerned"
"Well you have it, I am still avoiding Dad"
Jungkook sighed, he stood up taking small steps towards her.
"I don't think you are unthoughtful, you have every right to still be angry but you've been avoiding talking it out with Dad and that's not healthy for either of you" He reasoned.
"It's not like he will tell me anything, what's the use of talking it out?"
"I just don't want to see you moody every time"
"I didn't know you cared about me, not to think you didn't want me here at first," She said in a joking mood.
Jungkook sighed his eyes furrowing with a frown offended by her words.
"Of course, I care about you, how could you have such thoughts?"
Bitna's smile faded seeing his angry face, "I was only joking, of course, I know you care about me... Don't be mad, hmm?"
Jungkook rolled his eyes still claiming mad
"Let's go downstairs before Hyung barges in here" He mumbled standing up.
"Come on, it was just a joke"
Jungkook gave out a laugh seeing her sorry face, it feels good teasing her once in a while."It's so fun to tease! You should see the look on your face, so hilarious!"
"Yeah that wasn't funny, I thought you were mad by what I said" She rolled her eyes turning away.
"It's so fun to tease you, I won't be Jungkook if I don't annoy you," He said with a shrugging look.
"Here I was thinking you were cool for once, I take back my thoughts" She stood up gathering her books.
Jungkook snorted, "Nerd alert! Come down for dinner before Hyung barges in here"
"I will be down in a bit," She said going back to arranging her books.
Jungkook let out a sigh making his way downstairs, where his brothers were waiting.
"What of Bit-na?" Jimin asked.
"She will be down in a bit," He said sitting on his regular seat.
"What's up with the mood? Did something happen upstairs?" Jin asked placing a bowl on the table.
"Not really but something feels odd"
The boys stared down at him confused.
"What's wrong?" Hoseok asked
"Hyung, I am pretty sure something is going on in her mind that she isn't telling us. She needs someone to talk to, Yoongi Hyung" He called out almost startling the blonde guy.
Yoongi furrowed his brows urging him to speak up.
"You understand Bitna a lot, I mean you did face the same phase with Mom. Maybe you should try talking to her like a fellow athlete, who knows things might change"
"Kook got a point hyung, you should talk to her" Namjoon agreed.
"An athlete-to-athlete talk isn't what's going to settle this matter, I get your point Kook but what should I tell her? Go on! Run away, pursue your dreams and play basketball despite her Dad being against it, or should I tell her to be an obedient daughter and listen when I know that's not what she wants?" He reasoned
"Yoongi I think you are misunderstanding their point," Jin said.
"I am not, Hyung! Do you think what she needs now is a go-ahead to play basketball? No! That isn't what she wants now... She wants to know the real reason why she can't play basketball. That's what she wants, the truth and her Dad is the only one that can answer that not me"
The room fell into silence by that realization.
On the other side, Bitna was eavesdropping on their conversation. Her mind came to terms that what she needed was the truth.
Is there a deeper explanation for her playing basketball?
The one person she looked up to for the truth was the one hiding things from her.
What If the weirdo lady was making sense when she said there was more to it?
She does need to find the truth!
