Bitna had a conflicted look on her face as she wordlessly paced around her room. Her fist tightly clutched, rumbling the complimentary card.
Her mind battled on what to do, struggling not to take a peek at the card.
'This is the way to unveiling the truth, Bitna. Everything you want to know depends on this and you can't possibly just throw it away, right?" A voice rang within, supportive of the idea
'What's the point? She's Psycho and everything you knew is true. You mustn't bring back the past pains because of a mere issue' Another voice alerted.
She furiously shook her head at the thought of her painful past resurfacing. That was a definite NO from her.
A knock came through the door snapping her out of her little world. She gave out a sigh, comporting herself, and dipped into the bed.
"Come in" She mumbled in a weak tone.
The door opened revealing her Dad, the very person she has been avoiding for days now. She bit her lips when their eyes jammed together.
"Can I talk to you?"
"I don't want to talk to you, Dad. Go away!" She demanded turning to the opposite side.
"I'm sorry" He muttered softly closing the door.
"For what? For slapping me or turning a deaf ear to my pleas? Or ripping my jersey"
"I know you are mad at me and it makes me feel worse knowing that am the cause, I shouldn't have reacted that way and it hurts more knowing I laid my hands on you" He muttered the last part rather slowly.
"So now you notice Dad? Do you know how hurt I was that day? I ran the streets of Seoul crying in the rain, I didn't even ask for much?" She said withholding herself from yelling.
"I'm sorry, Princess! What can I do to make it up to you? Anything?" He asked.
"Anything? Are you sure, Dad? Don't make the statement you can't fulfill... If still, I request to play, will you let me?" She asked with a blank look not expecting anything. "No, right?"
Her father sighed the reluctance visible. "Anything but that"
"I want to know the truth?" She bluntly spat
Mr. Park furrowed his brows in confusion, "About what?"
Bitna gulped finding the courage to say the next words.
"Mom" She muttered eyeing up to see her father's reaction but she was met with a not detailed expression. "About everything... Why you won't let me play? Why do you get so mad when I talk about basketball? Tell me Dad, only the truth can make me happy"
For the next couple of minutes, the room was so silent. Their eyes blankly stared at each other.
"You must be tired, you should get some sleep" He broke the silence with a simple talk, set on leaving the room.
Bitna scoffed with a disbelief look, "You asked me what I wanted and now I tell you, you are just going to walk away? I want to know about Mom, all I have is this blurry memory of her leaving but that ends there, I don't even know what she looks like anymore. I want to know the reason why she left. The reason why I had to suffer all those years... And why sports, especially basketball is a hard subject for you. Is this all connected to Mom leaving?"
"Enough" Her Dad's voice came through almost enough to send shivers to her body.
"There Is no truth to know about, either about your Mom or anything else. What you know is the truth and you should keep it like that, understood?" He demanded before exiting the room.
Bitna stood there in total shock as she watched the door close.
"First, My Dream and The Truth'
Why has everything been kept away from me?
These thoughts wander mindlessly inside her.
"If you won't tell me the truth, Fine! I have someone else who can do it" With clenched jaws she roughly wiped away the tear rolling down. In a swift move, she pulled out the card inputted the number in her phone, and then dialled the call button.
After a few rings the receiver caller came through;
BITNA
This is Bit-na! Let's meet up
RECEIVER
About time you called! What's got you wanting to meet up?
BITNA
Everything! I want to know the
truth and I am sure you know
something.
RECEIVER
Well, you have it, I will
text you where to meet me and the time.
BITNA
Sure.
With that she hung up and lay down on her bed as she stared at the ceiling, hoping that choice of hers was the right thing.
Yeah!
It's just the truth and there is nothing to worry about anymore, it's not like this will change our life or something.
It's just a piece of information, right?
Nothing bad can go on...
Author's Note: It's been a late update, I know. It has been a bit hectic lately, and I haven’t had the time to write as much as I wanted. I want to make sure I give you the best story possible, rather than rushing it."
