"No, no!" Baekhyun quickly testified. "We're definitely cousins. Just reaaaally close." Mina sent me daggers in her glares, which made me totally nervous.
"I'm just going to go downstairs," I didn't even wait for a reaction when I rushed down the stairs flustered. I ate and got my stuff ready for a new day of school.
"Hey cousin," Hyejin waved as she opened the front door, which was seeminly unlocked. I gave her a nervous wave and carried on eating my breakfast.
"Are you guys ready to go?" Mina gave us a fake cheesy smile once she reached the kitchen. "Because I definitely am." We followed the couple into the garage and I sat at the back beside Hyejin while Baekhyun drove.
I certainly wasn't excited for school. Who was I meant to hang out with, apart from my own cousin?
"Hey, I'm going to study early today. Completely flunked my homework, so I'm gonna ask for help. See you later." Hyejin told me at the school doors.
Being all alone, the couple and Hyejin disappeared, was tough for me. I found my friends standing in a circle that didn't look like it would invite an extra person. Seulgi was directly facing me, and my heart stopped once her eyes narrowed and her face hardened.
"Let's just go, you guys." Seulgi began walking quickly, Kyungsoo following swiftly. I grabbed onto Sooyoung's arm before she could join them.
"Why are you mad at me?" I countered, smiling inwardly to see her perspiring slightly.
"I'm not," she whispered. "It's just... you were kind of out of order yesterday to Seulgi."
"So she told you. Of course she's going to be biased, making me look like the villain. I don't even know why she's mad at me!"
"Calm down-"
"Don't tell me to calm down," I seethed in anger. "I lost my friends for a stupid reason. I thought us four were all best friends. That we'd all be impartial to each other. Not take sides."
"We are!"
"Yeah, that's why you're not even taking my side to account and hanging with Seulgi and Kyungsoo. While I rot at the sidelines. Have fun, the three of you. Because I'm done."
At that moment, I took no time to flounce away from Sooyoung. I guess it's me, myself and I at this time of day. All those years we spent together being the closest friends ever. And one stupid mistake changes it all. I couldn't believe Kyungsoo. He should at least make it right! He knew what happened. I wish he never had a crush on me, so all of this wouldn't of happened.
I didn't realize I bumped into Baekhyun for some reason. His hands flew to my shoulders so we both didn't fall over.
"Wow, Joohyun. You seem mad. What happened?" Baekhyun knew, though. From the look on his face, he knew what I was angry about.
"Stupid friends. Unnecessary fights. And loneliness." I answered gloomily. My hair covered my face so he wouldn't see the tears forming.
"What did Seulgi say?"
"Nothing. But her eyes said enough," I cringed remembering that moment. "You know what, I gotta get to class."
Edging away from Baekhyun and his group that were joining him, I ran into my class.

"What do you need to do again?" I glanced up at Hyejin who had a guilty look on her face.
"I made friends with these girls in gym class. They're really nice. So I wanted to hang with them." Hyejin frowned once she saw my disappointed face. "You can join us! They wouldn't mind, I guess."
