bae joohyun

I twirled around my mirror in my new shirt and white shorts; bought specifically for today. The day I become a heart-breaker.

I hate you, Kang Seulgi.

It was a Saturday, a day where I'm usually home alone in the spacious house to do whatever I want. But I was doing something different today. I was meeting Kyungsoo at our local park, the flora and fauna looking beautiful today.

Pulling my purse off my bed, I stepped down the stairs in my lace up converse and left the house.

The park was near the new house which was convenient. Once I reached it, I saw the back of him.

"Joohyun!" He waved, running up to me. "My car's parked back there. I need to take you to my special place!"

"Sure." Oh God! Special place.

Indeed Kyungsoo's car was parked right there in front of the park. He opened the door for me and moved to the other side to drive. The drive was very long, which wasn't good. I just messed around with stupid games on my phone. And then slept.

We reached there after a long time, me looking out of the window in confusion to see we weren't even in Seoul! Did he have some kind of super car that we moved borders to some kind of mountain place? The place was mountainous.

"Dude, are we even in Korea?" I cried loudly while still shocked at the view. It was pretty, though.

"Yeah, the outskirts." Outskirts? Of the edge of the earth? It looked like Mount Everest, but with less snow. And significantly smaller. "This is my special place. I used to come here when I was younger."

Bringing out a picnic basket from the backseat, Kyungsoo then (in my reluctance) dragged me out of the car and into the mountain air. I literally had vertigo looking down.

"Here's the special place." And there was a cliff area, the rocky land flat and safe looking. We took a seat there, just staying silent for a while.

"Ooooh, is that meat?!" I squealed as I saw quite a lot of meat packed. Kyungsoo sure knows me well enough that I eat meat more than anyone.

"I've never taken a girl here," he randomly blurted out. I turned to him with an eyebrow raised as he looked back at me scornfully. "I actually haven't taken anyone here. Ever. I wanted to share my first experience without my parents with you."

I cursed in my head. "That's sweet of you, thank you. I feel um... special."

"Well you should. This moment means a lot to me," he concluded with a sigh. "I hope you do take our relationship seriously, Joohyun. It always seems you have your attention somewhere else. Even now when we're in the middle of nowhere!"

"Ah, I'm just a very vivid thinker. I can't do anything without thinking it through," I answered quickly. He wasn't stupid by any means, and the clues were adding up to him.

"Sure..." And we didn't talk anymore after that. I just ate my meat in silence. Fear crept through me, the thought of Kyungsoo knowing about what happened. What if Seulgi already told?

Oh God, the Seulgi issue!

He looked so carefree and happy in my company at the moment. The happiest I've ever seen him! The wind swept his black locks as he continued to eat silently and smile softly at the breeze flying from the tall mountains. I couldn't be the reason he smiled AND the reason he was upset. I wasn't like that.

But what else could I do? Tell him I wasn't interested? Tell him Seulgi was a better match for him? Never.

I was taken out of my stressful thoughts with a tap on my knee. "Joohyun, you like the place? You're frowning."
