Author's POV

"Umaiyaal????"

Uyir frowned upon finding her niece at the doorway of her reading room. She closed the book, placed it on the side table, and gestured for Umaiyazh to come inside. Umaiyazh walked in and sat beside Uyir on the sofa.

The familiar blend of old and new books, neatly lined in the expansive room, prompted Umaiyazh to glance around with a gentle smile before turning to her aunt, who was expectantly waiting for her to speak.

"Athha"

"yes"

"You know what's happening right...."

"Be specific on what you ask Umai...I know many things happening "

Uyir responded with her characteristic enigmatic smile. As always, she knows everything but remains silent until you ask her or she decides to tell you. Umaiyazh took a deep breath

"Regarding Appa and Amma's divorce, with Amma missing and Appa objecting to any efforts from any of us to find her, insisting he will handle it on his own."

"Okay"

"That's it won't you do anything?"

"What do you expect me to do, Umai? He prepared the divorce papers and gave it to her, she signed them, left him, and now he insists on handling it himself. This clearly means he knows Geetha's whereabouts, so there's nothing left for us to do here."

Uyir shrugged her shoulders....Umaiyazh sighed

"Atha I feel guilty now"

"For what?"

"The argument stemmed from my decision to marry Bairavan, and it's making me feel guilty. It seems to be happening because of me, right? I don't understand why Amma is being so stubborn now. Appa just wanted me to be happy; that's why he supported this marriage. Why can't she accept it? Is a divorce and leaving Revathi Illam really necessary? I feel bad for Appa; he's heartbroken now, and I can't bear to see him suffer like this. He loves her so much; why can't she see it? "

Umaiyazh spoke with a tone of dejection, while Uyir couldn't help but chuckle upon hearing her complaints. Umaiyazh furrowed

"Why do you think like your Appa is mahaan? because he never said No to your wishes "

"Athha he is the best father and also the best man who loves his family to the core"

"Do you think just love is enough for a successful marriage life or in any relationship Umai?"

Uyir asked, Umaiyazh sighed and shook her head lightly

"I won't lie, I thought love was enough, but now, after entering married life, I don't know the answer to your question,"

Umaiyazh replied Uyir smiled

"Understanding that is a good start, I must say. Let's set that aside and address the guilt you mentioned. Do you truly believe that your choice of spouse could impact your parents' already strained marriage? If so, it's crucial to dispel that notion from your mind. Regardless of whom you married, this separation was likely inevitable, as Geetha had long desired it and has finally freed herself "

Uyir stated the obvious fact that confused Umaiyazh more

"what do you mean attha... my amma wasn't that bad woman"

"Wait when did I say your mother is a bad woman? "

"Then what my appa is bad"

"Nope your father isn't bad at all but Geethanjali's husband might be bad one "
