Pale moonlight was cast over a starlit pool, a peaceful silence except for a faint rustle of leaves and a gentle breeze fanning over the area. All was calm, until a smooth ginger pelt, flecked with starlight, padded out of the bushes. His vivid green eyes scanning the pool as he sat down, tail wrapped around his legs. Behind him, another cat came out of the bushes, this time a lithe black she-cat came and joined him, her green eyes nearly matching his own, as they looked on in silence.

Finally the flame-coloured tom asked, "Can you see them?"

"Yes." The she-cat sighed sadly, wishing that she could join them. "One of them looks so much like you..."

The tom looked at her, sensing her sadness and guilt, "I know, I wish I could join them too." He mewed, "But our destinies were made to be fulfilled, and you should be proud to have done just that."

"But that's not all!" The she-cat protested, tearing her gaze away from the pool. "I never should've run away, or blurt out the entire thing at the gathering, or... or..." She gritted her teeth, "Killed him."

At the word 'him' was said with many emotions, guilt, anger, sadness, and shame.

The tom rested his tail across her shoulders, "But if you haven't told the truth Hollyleaf, it would've been more painful for all of us, and you made one of the most greatest sacrifices that no warrior has hardly ever done, and that is saving another clanmate from one of the darkest threats we've ever faced. If you didn't save her, would you have felt better?"

But Hollyleaf just sighed and looked down. The ginger tom knew what she was trying to look for ever since she came to Starclan, and that was her own forgiveness, even when everyone else has. He recalled these past moons on how she tended to be alone most of the time, shredding a twig or two, or looking up to the sky. He himself tried to make her feel better by taking her out on walks or going hunting together, but that didn't cheer her up so much.

But what did cheer her up was a particular ginger-and-white cat visiting occasionally and spending time with her for all of his visits here, and that cat was the lost ancient Fallen Leaves. unfortunately he couldn't stay for very long  because he wasn't a Starclan cat, but Hollyleaf was always excited for his next return, and the tom himself imagined that if Fallen Leaves was a Thunderclan cat, they would be mates, and he himself would've supported them either way. But then a guilty thought came back to him, that is, about being glad that his own daughter Squirrelflight, chose Bramblestar as her mate instead of Ashfur, or as Hollyleaf calls it, Him.

But what surprised him the most is that Ashfur himself made it to Starclan, even when he tried to ruin the lives of four of his own clanmates (his own family!) or worse, kill them, yet he still found his way here. Not that he should be sent to the Dark Forest in any way, it's just that the murdered warrior was killed by loving too much, and he would've made things easier if he just moved on, and Hollyleaf would've stayed.

"Firestar." Hollyleaf said as she finally looked at him. "There are more cats coming."

Firestar turned his head and saw more glimmering pelts join him beside the pool. Pelts not only from his clan, but from his neighboring clans as well.

A blue-gray she-cat flicked her ears in greeting. "We have heard that Squirrelflight has finally kitted, Congratulations Firestar and Hollyleaf."

Firestar heard murmurs of approval from the cats who had come to join them, and dipped his head in acknowledgment.

"My thanks to you all." He meowed, "A new generation has finally come, and the four clans will do many great things together, finally as one."

"Too right!" A sleek black tom with warm eyes came over and nudged Firestar heartily on the shoulder. "But that's not the only thing we're here to talk about Firestar."
