Author's Note:
Whaaat? A new chapter that didn't take 2 weeks to write? Oh Christmas is definitely coming 😂 (or it's just a general gift from a friend to a friend for those of you who don't celebrate Christmas)
As promised here is the other half of the chapter I posted a few days ago. This one is also just over 13k words, so I think it's a good thing I split them up.
I've really loved getting to see everyone's theories about what has been going on with Nika and Quinn and just how their relationship might develop. It's even felt like some of you were reading my mind or somehow looking at this chapter when it was a draft. So more so than normal I can't wait to see what everyone thinks. Maybe I need to change it up if it's getting to predictable 🤔
Please be warned there are mentions of violence and child abuse so please skip if needed. It's mainly at the tail end so most of this chapter can be read if you're feeling up for it. It also isn't graphic, just it getting mentioned.
We got some twist and turns this chapter y'all.... As always, I'll see you at the bottom!

10. Jealousy
—————————————————————————
About 10-15 minutes after leaving the apartments the basketball girls and Quinn arrived to the party. Azzi had still been holding Quinn's arm but finally separated from her to greet some of the other girls from the team as the made their way inside. The house was smaller than the place they been at for the party last Friday. A small living room was connected to a dining area that had a beer pong table, and then there was a kitchen with a large island in the middle filled with bottles and cups. They made their way into the kitchen where the rest of the team was. Quinn stepped to the back of the kitchen and scanned the room carefully for any trace of that little weasel Dominic. She was part way through her second round of looking when a red solo cup was put directly in her line of sight. Quinn zoned back in to see Azzi smiling back at her.
"Sorry, this is for you. I tried calling your name, but you didn't hear me" Azzi smiled a little nervously.
"Oh you're all good, I was just looking to see if there was any... unwanted company" Quinn tried to not call too much attention to who she was talking about just in case anyone overheard, but she trusted Azzi would understand. Quinn forced a smile and took the drink from Azzi's hand, from the look and smell of it she could tell it was whiskey. "Did you notice this was what I was drinking last time?" Quinn asked taking a small sip.
"No, I was just asked to give it to you. Nika was going to but Paige dragged her to the beer pong table the second someone challenged her" Azzi rolled her eyes with a small smile. Quinn turned to her right to see Nika and Paige talking on one side of the table. As if she felt Quinn's eyes on her Nika turned her head to look at Quinn. Quinn smiled and held her cup up and out. Nika smirked back before lifting her White Claw in an across the room cheers. They both dropped their drinks down sharing another second of eye contact before Paige started talking to Nika again, pulling her attention back to the beer pong table.
"Well thank you for the delivery. I appreciate it" Quinn leaned on the counter behind her, starting to look over the room again
