Liminal Catastrophe {CFB//HNK}

Chapter 3

The sunlight is streaming through the tall classroom windows,as birds chirp and hang on the tree. Today seems to be another normal day,which is ironic and weird after a few weeks getting chased by weird looking monsters and meeting two unworldly girls.

Riki is staring at the scenery through the window,not realising it's his turn to answer the question.

"Riki Ryugasaki,when was the first motorcycle invented?" The teacher suddenly asks,causing the boy to jump a bit from his seat.

"U-uhm....I-I'm sorry teacher,but...can you repeat the questions?" he asks,trembling a bit.

The teacher only sighed before repeating the question. "I asked about the date of the first motorcycle that invented."

"Uhm.."Riki gulp and look at his textbook. His magenta eyes trailed page to page,and exhaled once he found the answer.

"In 1885,teacher!" he quickly answered.

(Comment if its not true. I know this from internet lol)

She nod,smiling. "Excellent." she praised before moving to the next student.

His shoulder lumped a bit. 'Glad I can answer..or else it would be shameful...' he thought with a sigh.

"RING!!"

The rest of the school went uneventful with Riki unable to concentrate in his class.
Other students start to tidy their things and get ready to go home. Some meanwhile chatting for their next activities.

Riki quickly starts to put his books and other things in his bag. Sumi,who had done approaching her childhood friend.

"Are you okay? You seem to be distracted because of something.It has been weeks.." Sumi asks with eyebrows raised a bit.

"Oh..er.. Sumi..." Riki mumbled, stammering. 'Should I tell her about yesterday...? But I'm sure she wouldn't believe it..' he thought.

Sumi titled her head. "Hellooo...? Earth to Riki? Someone there?" she asks with both arms on her hips as she huffed in annoyance.

"Uh..its nothing.." he answered. "It's just..I have a stomach ache,so... "

Another ringing noise disrupts their conversation and Riki quickly takes his b-phone from his pocket. It's a notification for his usual b-daman training with others.

"Oh,better go now! Training time-- see you later!" Riki said. He grab his bag before rushing out from the classroom.

"But didn't you have stomach ach-" Riki already left before Sumi could finish her question,leaving the girl in the classroom alone.

Sumi only blinked once-- then twice out of confusion. She narrowed her eyes,forehead twinching. "Something is surely off with him.." she muttered annoyingly.

As Riki jogged down through to the street,his mind kept on drifting to the two mysterious girls from a few days ago--also the monsters. He quickly shakes his head,gaining attention from Dracyan.

"Riki,are you alright...?You're still thinking about yesterday, aren't you?" Dracyan asked with a sigh.

Riki only gives a reassuring smile. "Well yes...uh.. Let's hurry or else we'll be late."

Dracyan only lets a 'hmm' as they proceed to their destination. Until the smell of fresh pastries made him slow down. It came from a small dessert stall at the corner of the street. Normally, Riki would have kept walking, but something caught his attention.

There she was. One of the girls who has grey hair with jellyfish styled hair.

Perria is sitting at the dessert stall's seat, happily eating a creampie.There are also two puddings on the table--- one is milk pudding and other is chocolate pudding. She is shockingly wearing a hospital gown causing people around her to keep staring at her. Their faces frowned,varying from confused and uneasy.
