Death is a cage, pain is a bird, and ignorance is bliss.

As birds circle high above, you're be free from acknowledging them, or you could decide to be unaware of their existence. But when the hunter grabs his arrows and strikes the bird down, it fell right at your feet. A bag of blood and bones, it's jutting out in awkward positions as it's putrid scent filled your nose with one thought too many and two certainty's too little, you were trapped in a cage of it's death.

As it was not even granted a chance to continue to live freely within it's rusted cage.

For the hero society, all press and PR managers rushed to the scene in a war of fame and morality. Disbelief at the tragic suicide of Todoroki Shoto, all spotlights were pointed towards the relations of the aspiring hero.

UA was shot at with rapid questions, of concern, of disbelief, of anger and of the unjustness. The teachers and staff stood strong either way. They had made a grave mistake and they should answer for their actions. Accountability was no longer something to use for good publicity or a means to an end; it was a reality they could almost hold in the palms of their hands, but truly held as a knife in the crook of their hearts. It was stabbing, gut-wrenching pain that made them tremble and shudder as tears slipped and tempers were lost.

The press did not help in the matter either.

They fired at UA's glass walls until they were all but fallen over. Creaked, pierced, and shattered, but the walls stood upright. They answered all questions, admitted all wrongs, and planned to make rights, but glass walls can survive blasts and gunshots.

What it really takes it a tap in the right spot.

A meek reporter, a young girl who was clearly working some part time at a press company, walked up past all railings and close the teachers, tapping her mic as the crowd noticed her and quieted down from a mutual curiosity.

She looked right into Aizawa's soul with her striking, dark grey eyes. Her hair short white hair with red streaks flopping as she tilted her head to the side.

"How are we supposed to ever trust you with our family, our loved ones, our safety, and our souls, if you couldn't even help someone under your care defeat themselves?"

She stifled a sob, gasping for air right after.

"How am I supposed to trust you ever again if because of your negligence I'll saw my brother leave home-"

Her voice cracked as she stepped up closer to Aizawa, gasping for air with each sob.

"-and I'll never be able to greet him as he returns home again?"

Izuku turned off the television. No one in the commons had the heart to object, as they didn't have the strength to keep watching either way.

Midoriya looked at his hands, he felt as if he could see Todoroki's blood on them, slimy and wear, screaming profanities and cries of blame.

He felt a tear hit his hands, slow, thin, as blood ran thick and could not be replaced by measly tears.

"I don't understand-" Midoriya spoke up quietly, "-how could we have helped? How could we have saved him from his loneliness!?" He questioned it all. He didn't understand. He just couldn't.

After a pause, Bakugou began to speak, "I- I wasn't very kind to Todoroki. I assumed it wouldn't hurt him that much. It was an assumption, a wrong conclusion, and it had bad consquences." He paused before walking up to Midoriya.

"But that is the dumbest question I've ever heard! Of course he would want to slit his wrists like some depressed freak-! He just must have...!"

Bakugou grabbed Midoriya's shoulders, looking him in the eyes, tears streaming down face, "I just don't know! Okay!? I don't understand why and where exactly we went wrong and-!" Bakugou gasped as her was dragged into hug by Midoriya. They didn't speak. They didn't move, they just cried, brought together despite their rivalry through grief.

Uraraka joined the hug next. "We can't bring Todoroki back, but we can honour him as the amazing hero he would've been, and the amazing person he was" she said somberly.

Iida joined in right next to her, "We can also make sure no one else is lost to a battle as such, as we shall support them in their every need" he stated as he did.

"We may not know what we did, but we can do research" Tsuyu suggested.

Then Mina joined. Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero tangled themselves in. And soon, all of class 1A was enveloping each other in a wrap of tears, grief and sorrow.

As ignorance is bliss, but birds all fall in the end.

As death is a cage meant to be escaped, and others may always need help escaping.
