If I could paint a picture of what my circus be like
Ya'll wouldn't like it, aint no wonder the crowds don't spike
Ashes all around, ashes from the circus i just finished burnin' down
And I couldn't look back, I knew that I burnt all the taunting clowns
And the circus is still in the makin', I ain't quite done yet
I'm out of gasoline but that dont mean it's over, game match set
But tonight with the butterflies flyin' high with broken wings
And the birds don't know what's the point in tryin' to sing
I'm still here, you can't get rid of me, I won't let you
Ya'll be tryin' to ruin the fun, but imma knock you down if you try to sue
~
Keep this warnin' close to yo heart!
I built this circus from misery, don't you dare start!
I'm sorry I don't have the care for a carnival!
The last one burnt down so damn it all!
Don't you dare go wishin' on that stupid well!
To tell a good story I had to go through hell!
I don't have fun games and rides, burnt it down and all,
But from these ashes I built this Circus Festival!

I had a mary-go-round, if I dig deep into the painful memories
And if you think I wasted my time blowin' ballons, I'll bring on your hemorhaging
No, I was the ring master, and I made it quite clear
All and all, while the crowd lasted, it was a good year
But then my jester, she decided to quit her role
She threw her flower on the ground and left me alone
I looked back at the clowns, and all of them were smilin' at me
But they had paint on their faces and I knew it was a fake smile that I see
I was in a fit of rage, the Jester was the star of my show!
I grabbed the gasoline and down the circus along with my heart goes

You know, you can burn down your circus, but the ashes are still there
The gray clouds are a reminder and they've made themselves clear
"You can't get rid of the memories, I won't let you" and I know it isn't fair
Please, I beg of you, don't be like me and burn down everything you hold dear
You think you can fix me? Please don't even try
I've held the flame so close to my rose, until I heard her cry
I yelped and pulled back, but don't you think the damage was done?
I can never say sorry, only tell her "you're my only one"

The memories fade away too fast, too quick
The feelings wash away until I'm feeling sick
There's no one left, no one here to build it all again
But no one never really had my back, not now, not then
