Its been four months since we have been engaged and I must say, LIFES GOOD BITCHES. I won’t lie its nice on this side, we are cruising, like you know cruising, I also had to relocate to Gauteng, because he begged me and I couldn’t say No. He met my brother and Phiwe, I thought Mxolisi would be a bit territorial but he wasn’t or maybe it was because of Qhawe. The man can sometimes, sell Honey to a bee. They also gave birth to baby Melomuzi, such a chunky little baby, so many folds you could eat him up like Japanese Milk Buns, nom nom. Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to wear my engagement ring, just yet. He says there’s procedures he needs to do, like write a letter to my brother, to discuss a day when they can all sit and introduce his family to my family. Plus the fact we haven’t told my brother plays a major role. He says he’s gonna do it, but he hasn’t done, or maybe his dad is supposed to do it, who knows. All I know is that life’s good.
I still have a job, although the first month of me moving here, I didn’t have one, because you know, you leave work without a plan and follow your fiancé. Then one day, I just get a call from, Mediclinic asking if I could come and run their Pediatrics Department and I was unsure, because you know, I’m fucking 26 and have no business and no experience to run a whole Department. So I said no, but would be happy to work there as a Doctor and Specialist and the President of the Hospital sounded Unbothered and agreed.
I asked Qhawe if he had anything to do with that, and he said, “No, that was dad, I told him you needed a Job, and he said he’ll figure something out, I didn’t know he was gonna try and make you the head of a department”

I also learnt how protective this family can actually be, I mean, I know how protective they are, I mean, ‘Mpumi’ is still my ‘PA’ and they bought me a new car too, a Mercedes Benz A45 AMG. But this particular story happens and revolves around Lebohang and about 2 weeks after schools opened, so ever since I started working at Mediclinic. I have been the designated driver for Lebohang, because my hospital is literally up the street and about a 15-minute walk. So I have been placed as his Emergency contact, because I’m also a Doctor too, if I knew being engaged came with so many responsibilities, I would’ve told him to keep it.
YOH.
So Lebohang calls me at around 11, “Mama, I think I’m in trouble” he says.
“What’s wrong?” I ask.
“Eish, ay, could you come over” he says.
“Yeah sure” I say.
I walk over to the reception and let them know, I need to leave for an emergency and get in my car.
It rings 3 times, “Hello” he answers.
“Babe, Lebohang says he’s in trouble he called me and asked if I could come over, what do I do” I ask.
“We are on our way, just whatever happens don’t let them walk all over you” he says.
“OK” I say, “I love you”
“I love you too” he says.

I drive into the school grounds and sign the entry form and given a visitors pass. I lock the car and walk into the admissions office and walk to the reception.
“Mholweni mama, unjani?”(Hello mama how are you) I greet.
“Ngiyaphila unjani?”(I’m alright how are you) she replies.
“Ngiyaphila”(I’m alright) I reply, “Bengifunana no’Lebohang Mahlatji”(I’m looking for Lebohang Mahlatji) I say.
“Ngathi umncane ukuba umzali wena”(You seem young to be a parent) she says.
“I’m his Emergency contact” I say.
“Oh, OK” she walks back and comes back with a young white lady.
“Hi how are you” she smiles.
“I’m good how are you?” I ask.
“I’m good, uhm you are here for Lebohang” she asks, I nod, “Right this way” there’s a buzz and I walk through the door and down a hall.

Why do I feel like I’m going to the Principals office, we walking down a hall with school pictures and School clothes hung up like trophies. I walk down the hall following the lady and she stops at a room with double doors written Headmaster at the top. Of course I’m meeting the Principal.
What did this boy do?
She pushes the doors open and I walk through.
There’s Lebohang, sitting in front of the Principals desk and the 2 aren’t looking at one another. He’s on his phone, looks like he’s scrolling through social media.
The Principal looks up and looks confused, “You are not his mother”
“I’m engaged to his brother” I say, “Dr. Mtyhobile” I reach across.
He stands, “Mr. Steenkamp, Headmaster”
“Pleasure to meet you” I say shaking hands, “So why are here?” I ask.
"Please, have a seat, Dr. Mtyhobile," Mr. Steenkamp butchers my surname, gesturing toward the chair next to Lebohang.
I glance at Lebohang, his face completely unbothered, and I already know this isn’t going to be some small misunderstanding. The kid looks way too calm for someone “in trouble.”
I sit, crossing my legs.
"Can you tell me what's going on?" I ask, looking from the Headmaster to Lebohang.
“I didn’t even do nothing” Lebohang speaks up.
“Yo bro, chill we’ll get this sorted, ok” I say calming him down.
“I think we should get Ms. Steyn, so she can explain what happened” he says, he presses a button, “Miss Steyn please come to my office”
“Lebohang what happened?” I ask.
“I think we should wait for Ms. Steyn” suggests Mr. Steenkamp.
