I’m sitting with James in his office and he’s pouring himself a drink.
He comes with the Decanter and sits it down and downs his first drink and pours another, “Drink?”
“Nah I’m good” I answer.
He shrugs and pours another glass, “Who stems to gain from this?” he asks.
“I don’t know, what you mean” I say.
“I mean the Saints, who would gain the most,”
“I mean the only person who wasn’t attacked was Zanele. Maybe her?”
He looks at his glass, “Nahh, she’s not smart enough”
“What” I say shocked.
“Why isn’t she smart enough?” I ask.
“She just isn’t” he says.
“Sun Tzu said, ‘All Warfare is based on Deception’ I think your underestimating your opponents” I say.
He locks eyes with me, “The only way a woman, like Zanele gets where she’s at is either by inheritance or on her knees, now her deceased Husband, that was a bad motherfucker, shit he had me scared a few times” he admits, “But Zanele?” he shakes his head, “Her business is crumbling as we speak”
“Yeah, but her niche is more high risk” I say, “Human Trafficking come on now”
“Yeah, but it’s not her” he says shaking his head, “Regardless, of that, until we find these motherfuckers, I’m gonna post people on you and your brothers”
“Come on man, I don’t need a babysitter” I say.
“Look, Dumisani is gone which means, I’m missing my Left hand, right now, you are all I have, since you joined me, you know you been my Right hand. I can’t lose my right hand not right now” he says looking down and not meeting my eyes.
I take a deep breath, “Aight man” I pinch the bridge of my nose.
He nods, I stand up and hold my hand out, “Don’t drink too much alright” I say.
He dabs me up and we look at each other, “Keep that piece on you alright”
I nod.
I walk out the room and head down to the reception, “Yo Lis” I call her to come closer.
“Wassup Don”
“Look, I need you to call Vuno or Imani, aight” I say.
“Why?” she asks.
“I don’t want him driving right or alone for that matter” I say.
“What happened?” she asks.
“Nah, don’t worry about that, just hold onto these,” I hand her the keys to his Aston, “And call Imani or Vuno or better yet both”
She nods and picks up the phone.
I walk out the gym and get into the Golf and switch it on and drive to Silverton.
Its 1pm, Asemahle is probably still studying.
So I have some time before I go back to her place.
FUCK!!!
I always knew something like this would happen, just never thought it would happen so quickly. If Dumisani was found and got shot shit, we dealing with some deadly shooters.
Yall remember Dumisani he was the dark thick guy from last year, the guy who tied Kabelo to the chair so that James can shoot him. dammit. I get to the gate of the Townhouse complex and park at the residential guest parking. I step out the car and walk to our number. I pull out my key and its already unlocked.
SHIT!!
I gently lift the burglar gate, and walk in. I walk to the window and peer in. I can’t see shit. I pull my pistol out and walk to the door and open it gently and walk into the house.
DAMMIT.
It smells of Weed and hookah.
I know these idiots didn’t throw a party. I walk down the passage and look into the living room, yerrr.
There’s girls and people I don’t know sleeping on the floor. I walk closer to the couch, where Lucas is sleeping with a girl on his chest.
SLAP!!!!
“Vuka wena!!!!” I shout and he shuffles and pushes the girl off the couch.
His eyes wince when he sees me and looks at me confused, “Don” he says, “Dingstang”
“The fuck is this?” I ask, “Didn’t we agree no parties?”
“This wasn’t a party it was just a bunch of friends who got together” he said his voice hoarse.
I slap him again, “You idiot, you still thinking like a fucking child. Where’s Tips?” I ask.
“Rank, I think” he answers.
I slap him again, “OWWW!!!!” he screams.
“Get these people out of here now” Lucas scrambles off the couch, rubbing his cheek and mumbling, “Alright, alright, Don. Just chill, man.”
“Chill? You want me to chill?” I snap, my voice low but sharp enough to cut through his hangover haze, “When I said no parties, I wasn’t fucking joking. Clean this shit up. Now!!!!”
I step over a girl sprawled on the floor, her makeup smudged and her hair in disarray. The room reeks of stale smoke, alcohol, and poor decisions. Lucas starts nudging people awake with his foot, muttering apologies to the half-asleep crowd. I walk upstairs and check if my door is still locked and it is, looks like he managed to keep everyone downstairs. I step into my room and head to my closet. I open my safe and pull out my phone, I hear Lucas arguing with one of the girls who doesn’t want to leave.
“Get up! Don’t make me tell you twice,” he said, his voice still hoarse but growing firmer.
