Soon enough Thanksgiving breaks was almost upon them...in fact it was the week after the current week and as someone who has seen the way students pack stuff to head home, she was already thinking about what to pack as she stared off in class. Aaliyah sighs tapping the pen on the table as the professor rambled on and on regarding how it was important to save up their official school dining dollars.
After the situation that happened in the principal's office, Benedict has been sticking to her a bit more...like a too much more. She would wake up at 5 in the morning, brushing her teeth and he would knock on the door ready to go. Don't get her wrong, she loves the improvement but something had happened...he was not like that after the stalking incident yet he was dressed and smiling in front of her door at 5 in the morning.
Aaliyah sighs, dropping her pen in her notebook, and looked around, to her surprise her classmates were actually paying attention, well some of them were not, but who would pay attention to a professor telling his life story when they had finals coming up in a couple of weeks. If this was high school everyone would be snoring by now and she would be the nerd of the class. College and high are really different.
Aaliyah turns back to the board and her professor as imagined how her week before the break would go. She and Mary were almost done with the project so they would probably sort it out after the break, Benedict and James would be off the field less since the coaches care about their finals, so they would be running around the campus more, Sammy would be stuck in her room studying and getting her art project ready because according to her that was her final and it was 20% of her final grade...which leaves no one but Benedict who would follow her like a dog.
As Aaliyah continues to think to herself, a voice catches her attention, it was her professor giving his weekly reports on how well the class did on the topic before and who had the highest score in the class.
"Aaliyah I said you got a 100 on the research paper," He says again as the class claps for her. Aaliyah nodded feeling shy, packing her stuff and prepares to head out when the professor called her
"Hey Aaliyah you have a 99 in this class and I'm proud of you..however, the less you talk the less your grade, you know right?" The professor says as he prepares for his next class
Aaliyah nods, it was college after all, and no amount of work would stop her grade from dropping below a 90 since participation was such a big thing in college.
"I'll try my best to talk more" Aaliyah nods earning a nod from her professor
"Also...I talked to your advisor and I am happy to tell you that we found 6 places you could do your internship" He says giving her a paper
Aaliyah smiles at him "Thank you so much"
Aaliyah leaves the room with a sigh folding the paper and putting it in her pocket and walking in hallway to the elevator where she met Benedict who was scrolling on his phone. He looks up and smiles at her
"Hi doll...how was class?" He asked
"It was alright...my professor gave me a list on the places I could find internships..." Aaliyah replies showing him the paper
Benedict smiles, but there was no emotion behind it, it was like he was not his usual self.
"Yeah...that's sweet" He says, pecking her forehead before holding her hand "Wanna grab food before my class? Oh I could drop you at your dorm so you can sleep..."
Aaliyah shakes her head "It's fine...we can go grab some food, I need to talk to Mary anyways so I would be with someone while you're in class"
They leave the building heading into the cafe and as he was paying for the food, Aaliyah was texting Sammy about what she felt in the elevator and needed to make sure that she was not overreacting
"He was following me so much but now he seems so distant" She types to Sammy who immediately starts to responds "So let me get it, after what happens, he follows you everywhere a day ago and now he's acting like loving you is a chore? Break up with him"
Aaliyah reads the text, looking up at Benedict who was waiting for their food before looking back at Sammy's message
"I don't want to break up his heart...maybe he's not feeling well"
"Aaliyah he was sick like days ago and he was still giving you kisses...but I guess you need to talk to him, then if my suspicions were right then break up with him immediately"
Aaliyah shuts her phone and thinks about her past relationships. It had always started like that, one week they were pecking her like the world was ending and then the next week they were trying to ignore her, giving her excuses and lies before she either catches them cheating or she begs them to talk, which she would find out that they had lost feelings for her.
'Benedict is just like them' She thinks to herself but her heart feels upset and hoping that he was just off and he was not losing any feeling for her. It would be the biggest breakup in her life and she would have to move universities just because of that.
