It's been a few days since Saleaah has been in the hospital. Now, it was the first day that she could have visitors outside of family. So, before anyone could come and visit her, she decided to check in with Stiles. She hadn't talked with him much for a few weeks, and he was complaining about it.
"You look terrible." She heard as soon as the screen created a perfect picture of the sleep deprived male in front of her. "You don't look too good yourself." She pointed out, seeing the paleness of his skin and dark under bags.
Shia was a girl that many people favored, not all, but many people. Therefore, when her nurse entered the room and she basically pleaded with her to use their desktop, the woman couldn't say no. Of course she knew that she would get an ear full from both Carlisle and her mother.
"I think I look quite pretty, actually." Stiles smirked lazily as he leaned closer to the camera. "So, what brought you to the brink of death?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"What's bringing you near the brink of death?" She retaliated, mirroring his eyebrow raise. The male nodded with a light chuckle, leaning back in his seat.
"If I told you, you wouldn't believe me." He shrugged and Saleaah rolled her eyes, which was followed by a small wince.
Stile noticed it and looked down slightly, before meeting eyes with the girl again. "Try me."
That is how another world opened up to both long distance friends. Well, pen pals as some may call it. This was the first time Stiles could freely express himself without any judgment, without the feeling of impending disappointment. He felt heard, like someone was actually there for him.
"Hey, Nurse McCall and Nurse Crawford are rushing me off the call." Shia smiled at the male who was trying to hide the wiping under his eyes. "Try to get some sleep, text me anytime okay? I've gotta go." The girl told the insomniac male who nodded, taking a loud breath through his nose.
"Thanks, Salea. Stay safe." Stiles smiled sadly at the girl. "You too, loser." Shia smiled back before ending the call.
She didn't like how that felt so similar to a goodbye. "Alright, back to your room. You've been out too long." Nurse Crawford ushered the small framed girl back to her room. "Will you watch Criminal Minds with me?" Shia asked the male with glimmering eyes,who glanced around.
"Fine, but you will have to wait until I finish my rounds. You hear?" The dark skinned male pointed at her and she nodded excitedly. "You said it!" Saleaah grinned making her way to her bed.
Nurse Crawford was sweet and cool. He was like an older brother she never had. He was young and good with children. He was also infatuated with Lumi Grayson's mother.
