(Still in robins P.O.V, you'll find out what will and max were talking about soon enough)
I make my way out of the house. Steve is gonna kill me if I don't get to the store immediately. I jumped on my bike and peddled as fast as my legs could handle. I surprisingly make it there in record breaking time and almost get run over as I turn into the Family Video parking lot. I park my bike in the little rack and walk up to the door, but before I go inside, i notice the open sign is flipped to say "closed" even though we're not supposed be
closed yet. Nancy's there, still talking to Steve. I don't question it and open the door. They jump and I stare at them, confused.
"Oh, I thought you were a costumer." Nancy puts her hand over her heart like it was trying to run away.
"Must've been a pretty intense conversation for you to jump that hard." I replied, beginning to feel suspicious.
"Yeah..." Nancy threw on a fake smile.
Steve, throughout this whole encounter had not taken his eyes off Nancy. Which is pretty weird... I hope they're not getting back together. Nancy is still dating Jonathan so that would be a little weird but I respect the game.
"I should get going," Nancy says. She walks over to Steve and hugs him before turning to me. This is my second hug from Nancy and somehow it felt better than the first one. Her arms wrapped around me tightly. She's a good hugger, I guess. She pulled away and waved at us before leaving. Steve, still staring as she left.
"Someone's in love!" I tease. My heart pinging with a horrible feeling.
"What!? Me?"
"No, that bookshelf behind you. He's been awfully close to Nancy." I whispered with my hand covering my mouth so the bookshelf doesn't hear.
"I am not in love with Nancy. She's dating someone!" He stormed off into the back room, before emerging once more. "Vicki's on the phone."
"WHAT?! I was supposed to call her, not the other way around." I sprint to the back room. Once I'm in, I grab the phone. "Hey Vick!"
" Hey Robin!" Vicki's voice travels through the phone in a funny way. She sounds so different. She tells me her address and I give it to Steve. He agrees to take me despite still being annoyed by my previous comment.
When we're both in the car, he says, "I'm not in love with Nancy."
"And just because I don't want you to kick me out of your car, I'll agree with that statement."
He glares at me but doesn't reply. Soon we make it to what I'm hoping is Vickie's house. "Goodbye Robin," Steve grumbles.
" 'Til next time my friend!" I shut the car door and head up to the front door. I felt my heart twist in the thought of Steve and Nancy getting back together. As I approached, I hear music playing. Was this actually a party? I bring my knuckles up to the door but before I could even knock, the door opens. A blonde, about 5 inches shorter than me, is at the door.
She smiles at me and yells to presumably Vicki, " Robin's here!" She then lets me in the house and shuts the front door behind me. The first thing I notice is the small living room to my left. Vicki's house doesn't appear to be very large for it's only one story. In the kitchen to my right, Vicki stands poring a big bottle of vodka into multiple cups.
" Just in time, Rob!" Vicki puts the bottle down and quiets the music. Vicki makes her way over to me and hugs me. Don't get me wrong, the hug is incredible but something is missing. That warmth that Nancy's hug provided. Strange how I can even over analyze something as simple as a hug. "I have a great night planned for us. I really hope you like it." Vicki says while pulling away from our hug.
The blonde clears her throat from behind me and makes me jump a little. "OH! My apologies, Robin, this is Veronica, my friend I told you about." -Vicki points at Veronica- "Ronnie, this is Robin." Veronica shakes my hand, her dimples showing as she smiles.
"I've heard lots about you. No literally, Vicki talks about you ALL the time!" Veronica's grip tightens around my hand.
"Oh that's... uh well at least we can skip introductions. I usually have to explain much about myself before I really get someone comfortable around me. However, I do hate it because I always end up talking too much and the person gets uninterested. And trust me that has happened so many times...And it's happening right now isn't it...?" I ramble.
"Uh, yeah! But it's fine Robs. Let's go to the couch, I want to choose a movie." Vickie replies.
"I call dibs on choosing the first movie!" Veronica spews out in one big blur of words. I think I've finally found some competition in my fast speaking sport. Veronica dashes to the back of the couch and hops over it, unfortunately she ran too fast and jumps over the couch, straight into the floor. A big thud follows the landing. Vicki is already cackling before Veronica even gets up. "I'm okay, thanks for asking!" Veronica stands up as we near the couch.
"Sorry, I would've asked if Vicki's laugh wasn't so fucking funny. I almost started laughing just from the sound." I said as I plopped on the couch. Vicki sat next to me, still giggling.
"It's just so funny because how'd you miss the couch when it's this big?!" Vicki bursts out laughing again while Veronica pouts.
"Whatever, I'm gonna get the blankets." Veronica left the room. I could feel my palms get clammy at just the thought of Vicki and me sitting alone. Vicki stared at the movies under her TV stand. There were many tapes all kinda repeating the same boring colors. Sweat began to drip down my forehead and I gulped hard. Why the fuck am I so nervous? Suddenly a knock could be heard at the front door. The knock was so loud, I almost screamed.
"I'll get it." Vicki arose from the couch and trotted towards the front door. I watched as she walked, eager to see who was at the door. She put her hand on the knob when another knock on the door startles us. "IM HERE!" She shouts at the person on the other side of the door, which makes me chuckle. She opens the door to reveal a middle aged man with a bunch of pizzas. "Oh, thank you." Vicki said as she took the pizzas from his hands. She takes the pizzas and sets them down on her counter top but as she makes her way towards the door, the pizza man runs away. "Sir! Sir! I was going to tip you!" She shouts outside the door but the car is already gone. She huffs and closes the door. "What a weirdo."
Veronica is back with the blankets and hands them to me. "~Ooo~ you got pizza?" She walks over to Vicki and grabs a slice of pizza. I turn around and put the blankets down on the couch. I put one down on the seats before placing a cover on each cushion for whoever will be sitting there. By the time im done, Vicki and Veronica are standing next to me with pizza and cups. Veronica sits down next to Vicki and places her plate on the coffee table.
"I got you pepperoni, Rob." Vicki hands me a plate with pepperoni pizza on it. She also hands me a cup of definitely not water.
"I want to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street!" Veronica said. "Any objections?"
I didn't say anything dispute the fact that I most certainly did not want to watch a horror movie.
"Awesome, I'll put it on." Veronica flashed me another dimpled smile. She also went a turned the lights off. Soon the movie came onto screen after an abundance of previews to other movies that have already come out. The tv was much older than my model so people on the tv were a bit blurry but I didn't mind. I like the "rustic" look it brought. I don't even like my current tv, my mom bought it so it's automatically got something wrong with it. If I knew my mother for anything, it was spending tons of money on stupid things. After a while, I could feel my eyes get droopy. I had already eaten my pizza so there was no point in staying up much longer. I felt a yawn brew inside of me (bet you yawned at that) so I let it out.
"Is someone getting sleepy?" Veronica said. But I was too tired to reply. I gave into my thoughts and shut my eyes before letting myself drift into sleep.
So don't yell at me but I lowk forgot I was making this bc I was too distracted making my other fics. BUT I SWEAR I WILL BE UPDATING THIS FIC AND ONLY THIS FIC DURING THE SUMMER. I was super busy with school that I barely had time to write let alone multiple fics. Good news, those will be coming out hopefully this year. Anywho, I know I've been gone for a while but I'm on my grind already so trust that I will be cooking up. In the next few chapters you will get to hear about Eddie so stick around for that (I'm begging you). Bye, bye!
