Emelia was quite literally jumping for joy.
"Kit Connor get your ginger ass up right fucking now!" The blonde jokingly yelled, jumping on the large bed in her temporary New York apartment.
Kit let out a groan, immediately sitting up and grabbing the girl's bare legs. Emelia shrieked, falling back into the bed next to him. He let out a satisfied hum, eyes closed as he pulled her to his chest.
Emelia gave up, letting out a sigh as she sank into the soft pillow.
"Baby," she whispered, leaning in close to his ear.
Kit let out a sleepy grunt, tightening his grip on her.
"Fine then, I guess you don't want to know..." Emelia whispered again, her lips brushing his ear.
"That I just got the role."
Kit's eyes shot open, his arms instantly loosening as a grin spread across his face. He shifted to face her. "Wait... what?"
She pulled back slightly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I'm going to be in the movie. I got the part."
Kit's grin turned into a full-on beam, his hands immediately cupping her face, eyes scanning her like he couldn't believe it. "Emelia, that's—" He laughed in disbelief, embracing his girl tightly. "I knew you'd get it. You're incredible."
Emelia leaned into him, her smile nearly glowing. "I just needed to hear you say that. It's... it's real now."
Kit kissed her softly, then pulled back, raising an eyebrow. "You really should've woken me up sooner. You know how important this is." He grinned mischievously.
"Uh-huh..." Emelia brushed off his joke, cheeks starting to hurt from how hard she was smiling.
