Emelia Cordone Takes a Lie Detector Test | Vanity Fair Vᴀɴɪᴛʏ Fᴀɪʀ • 864K Vɪᴇᴡs • 5 Hᴏᴜʀs ᴀɢᴏ
"Wow, this is really spooky..." Emelia trailed off, eyes flicking around the room as she took in the sterile setup—wires, monitors, and one very serious-looking man.
"How are you?" she asked as he wrapped a cuff snugly around her upper arm and started attaching sensors to her fingertips.
"I'm Barry. You're going to really hate me." His voice was flat, unreadable, as he focused on the machine in front of him.
"Oh. Okay, that's a good answer," the singer said with a nervous giggle, glancing over at the camera like she was looking for backup.
There's a beat of silence as everyone finishes setting up, the soft hum of equipment filling the room.
Then the questions start.
"Is your full name Emelia Avery Cordone?"
The blonde sits with her hands flat on the table, back straight, visibly trying to act unbothered. "Yes."
"Are you twenty-two years old?"
She smirks slightly, holding back a laugh as she stares at the interviewer. "Yes."
"Are you about to take a lie detector test?"
"Uh-huh." She nods, lips pressed together like she's trying not to smile.
"Are you nervous?"
The singer pauses, considering it. "No."
"Barry?"
Barry tilts his hand side to side in a noncommittal gesture—half shrug, half warning.
The blonde bursts into laughter.
EMELIA CORDONE TELLS THE TRUTH
"In a recent interview, one of the hosts said, quote: 'You were really good at dodging questions.'"
The singer smiled slowly, "Absolutely."
"Do you believe that to be true?"
"Absolutely."
"Is there any question you're going to dodge in this interview?"
"Absolutely."
"Which question?"
The blonde tilted her head, feigning thought. "Probably the ones that I don't want to answer."
"Just those ones," she added with a grin. "I'm not coming into this planning on lying, if that makes you feel better."
