"Mia we have to stop snooping around!!! Eventually Grandma's going to get mad at us!!!" Rowan says, clearly annoyed.
"Oh come on, it's so cool up here!!!" I say. "It's not like they come up here anyway. It'll only be a minute."
"Still... Mia I really don't like this." He says while leaning up against a bookshelf. "It's all dusty and dirty and... It just gives me the creeps!!!"
I look up from the box I'm shuffling through, "Stop being such a baby."
I look around. There's nothing here but boxes and that dusty bookshelf.
Suddenly, I hear a long metallic noise.
"Rowan... What did you just do?" I say slowly.
"Umm... I might have accidentally pulled a book on the bookshelf."
I give him one of my looks. Rowan is a year older than me. He should know how to deal.
"What?!? It was orange... You know I love the color orange!" He yells back.
"Shh." I whisper. Slowly I stood up. Walking so my footsteps would make no noise, I reached the book shelf. Nothing appeared to have changed, but something was obviously off. I examined the rim of the shelf and then looked down. Right near my left foot was a knob.
"What do you say chicken? Wanna find out what's inside?" I ask mockingly.
"Actually, this time, I'm interested." Rowan announces.
I twist the knob and pull, revealing a stairwell.
"Let's go."

As we walk down the long stairwell it gets hotter and hotter the farther we go. Almost like a volcano.
"Why is it so hot?" Rowan asks, the sweat from his face dripping onto the ground.
"To be honest, I have no idea." Normally I had a solution for everything. I was the "know it all" of the family.
It felt like we'd been walking forever. We must've walked at least half a mile.
"I hate walking." Rowan whined. "Why do we have to walk?!?"
"Well, sir there wasn't an elavator for you to rest your royal bum bum in." I replied obnoxiously.
"I hate you." He says.
"I hate you too." I smirk.
Suddenly, something glimmers in the bottom corner of my eye.
"Wait! I think we're almost there!!!"
I run the rest of the way. That's when I see the door.
It was humongous. I'm about 5'3 and it was about 3 or 4 mes tall.
"That's a big door." Rowan whispers.
"Well, we've come all this way, might as well see what's inside."
I pull the door, but it won't budge.
"A little help here?" I ask, annoyed.
Quickly, Rowan runs over to help. We try and try, but nothing seems to work.
"Come on you stupid door!!! Move!!!" Rowan yells.
"Ugh. This is so stupid. I don't have the foggiest idea of why I wasted my time doing this." I scream.
I walk backwards to about 15 feet from the door. Then, before my brother has a chance to say anything, I charge at the door.
"Mia?!? Mia are you alright?!?!? MIA?!?" I hear Rowan cry, but it all just fades to black.
