"So we need to defeat Queen Twilight Shadow... Whatever her name is?" Dalair asked.
"Correct." Wilona confirmed as we left the auditorium.
"Well, first we should probably get out of the building." I thought to myself.
There were no signs, which was quite unhelpful. I guess most of the people living here or working here would know where to go and where not to go by now.
"Look! There's a picture of a dragon!" I said. It was bright red with huge claws and simmering fiery breath.
We walked up to the picture, reading the caption, "Exit left. Find the way before the dragon does awake." Wilona read.
Well, that was easy. Exit left.
"It's our only option. We can' keep wandering around here, but no one gave us any armor." I stated.
"Joy." Dalair said sarcastically as we saw the plain door to the left of us. We walked toward it, and without thinking turned the knob.
A great flash of light went off before our eyes, and we were transported to a gigantic maze. It's trimmed green hedges were taller than mountains. In front of us was a girl. She had long slick brown hair that was held in a ponytail that ran down to her knees. She had an amber color of eyes and she was wearing a red cloak, a purple dress that fell to her knees, the tights she had were black, her top long sleeved which seemed like it was heavy, and a sword was strapped onto her back.
"You have been transported to the Maze of the Guardian. It is the only way of entering or exiting the building. My name is Vita, the guardian of the maze." she pointed to three path ways. "Only one of these is the right one. Each of you may ask a question, but then I will pick your path for you. If one of you wins, by stealing the jewel of fire, all of you may leave. Anyone that dies, shall stay dead, but their spirit may come with you."
Wilona stepped up to Vita, "What are the obstacles?" she asked.
Vita scanned Wilona, as if looking for something, "You, daughter of Hope, shall take the center path." she said, "The answer to your question is that there are poisons, demons, monsters, and other people. Now go." Vita wooshed her hand and Wilona was in front of the center path.
Wilona smiled, "Let us hope we win." Then, she entered the maze.
Dalair stepped up to Vita, "What magics are hidden in the maze?"
Again, Vita scanned him, "Son of bravery and courage, there isn't any magic hidden in the maze." she said, whooshed her hand, and Dalair was at the path on the right.
Dalair looked at me, "We'll make it." Then, he took off running.
I walked over to Vita, "Which of my friends are going to die?" I asked, sadly. Someone always dies.
Vita scanned me, but then her eyes lit up, "Daughter of strength of mind, that choice is entirely up to you." she paused, about to whoosh her hand, but stopped, "You... I've seen you before... You're... her..." Then, with realization in her eyes, she whooshed her hand, sending me to the left path like a teleport.
There was no one left to say by to, so cautiously, I entered the maze.
