Brave, Strong, and Hopeful

I woke up in a small room. It had one bed, a mirror, and a table. Simple. As I stood up, I heard a knock at the door.

"Cynthia Stratton, please open the door." a female voice called.

I cautiously walked over to the door, opening it slowly. Outside a was a young girl, about my age, 12, in a long blue dress that had no design whatsoever.

"I'm sorry to wake you, Miss Cynthia, but we must start our day." she said.

"Oh, no problem. Who are you and where do I go?" I asked.

"My name is Athena. We're going to have you choose what you want to be called. There is much power in a name, so you cannot use your real one." Athena explained, "Please follow me."

I followed her down a long corridor, turned left, and came across a giant set of golden doors.

"This is it. It's called the Hall of Choice." 

"Thank you, Athena." I told her, focusing on how big the doors were. They were made for giants.

"Miss Cynthia? Please choose a good name. It determines you fate." she whispered, a bit afraid.

I entered the room. It was a giant auditorium with five pedestals. On each was a different colored scroll. The first was white, then black, next was blue, then pink, and last was a rainbow colored scroll.

"Miss Cynthia Stratton, please pick a scroll." the same voice that had called me here boomed, "The white scroll is a list of names of Lux, light. The black scroll is a list of names of Tenebris, the dark. The blue represents time, and the pink represents space. The other one will give you a random name, whether good or bad. Choose."

I walked up the stairs on the left of the stage to center stage. Immediately, as if instinctive, a walked over to the rainbow one, opened it up without thinking, and read the name in the center of the page. 

"Alcina Firewolf." I read from the scroll, "What does it mean?"

"It means strong minded. You are the brain of your team." the voice said.

Two figures stepped out from the shadows, "Well, Alcina Firewolf... I'm Dalair Fullchaser. It means brave and valiant." said a voice that sounded like Marvin's.

As they started walking up I could tell that it was Carolyn and Marvin.

"I'm Wilona Frostbreath. It means hope." said Carolyn.

"Together," the voice interrupted, "You will save this land." a map dropped from the ceiling into my hands, "Follow the map to Queen Twilight Shadowend's castle. Find a way to defeat her." there was a loud bang, and the voice was silent.

"That was helpful." I said sarcastically.
