"I'm grateful you all managed to arrive here quickly. It's a real emergency" Felix was walking in the cafe from one side to the other, very serious and concentrated "You are all invited to my New Year's party. As you know, I'm having the best parties on campus and that's tradition"
"Could you just tell me what's the emergency?" Seungmin sighed visibly eager to leave and get back to what he was doing.
"This year I won't be able to make that party" he said with full dramatism.
"I'd cry if that was true but I'm sure he's not telling us everything" Hyunjin side-eyed his blonde friend with narrowed eyes.
"I can't pretend anymore!" Felix smiled widely and started jumping "We're going to the Caribbean!" He shouted excitedly and he fell into Hyunjin's arms who was already also squirming.
"How did you arrange it?"
"Won't it be hella expensive?" Seungmin didn't seem to be as enthusiastic as the two, he still wanted to get back to his work and not waste time.
"It's my aunt's house so we'll have to pay for the flight and food only" Changbin explained "I wanted to tell you all sooner but Felix figured out and insisted that he'll announce it"
"I did an amazing performance tho" Felix said with a smile, proud of himself.
Minho still didn't look convinced. He was calculating in his mind. His savings were small and there was no way he'd ask his parents for help. There was also too little time to work and earn money for that himself.
"It's amazing. I'll search for the cheapest flight and send you the details later. Can I go to my room? I need to finish something" Seungmin basically ran out of the cafe.
"It's his way of sharing emotions. Trust me, he's very happy, he'll cry later when nobody sees" Hyunjin explained as Seungmin was his roommate "I think he was watching Winx before we went here but not sure"
Chan apologized and also went to continue working and the rest stayed at the cafe.
There were three other clients beyond them, only the old man saw their meeting and smiled warmly while watching them.
"I should probably leave too," Jisung said looking a bit down "Is everything okay? You don't seem happy about the news"
"It's just..." It was too embarrassing for Minho to admit that he couldn't afford it.
He thought about lying but there was no point in that. He just had to admit and tell him that he couldn't go.
"I won't be able to go"
"What?" Jisung said at first but he had to realize what was the problem "Min, Felix, and Changbin are hella rich, if you ask one of them, I'm sure they will understand"
"I won't ask them for help. I'm grateful for everything you've done and for your presence Sungie but it's something I won't do"
"Because of your pride or something? I'll ask Felix if you don't"
"Why are you so stubborn?"
"I just want you to be here. We were separated for all of Christmas. It would be a shame to lose an occasion like that" he winked at Minho and quickly left the cafe, his money lying under the plate with finished coffee.
Hi!
I'm trying to get used to my usual sleeping schedule but I'm lazy after Christmas and I want to sleep
I'm literally freezing so let's write about sitting by the pool in 30°C
Have a nice day
