On the weekend Minho was in the cafe for 8 hours. Twice of his usual shift. He didn't mind. On Saturdays and Sundays, they usually had less customers, as the students weren't visiting them after lectures, so he was alone in this place.
"Jisung is going to be here in like 10 minutes" he mutterded to himslef, then realized and went to the bathroom to check how he looked in the mirror.
Not like it was very important to him, but he didn't want any hair to stand in a different direction than it should and all.
"Welcome in sweet cookie" He welcomed as always seeing two clients entering.
"Good morning" Jisung said formally not showing that he knew the waitress. He led the kid to the table and looked through his books "You didn't solve the homework I gave you last time"
"The task is wrong, it's impossible to solve"
"Did you look at it and tried?"
"Of course, I spent some time looking at it"
"You really didn't find any idea even with the examples from our last session?"
"I've lost the notes" he said without any shame making Jisung sigh.
"Look, it should go like this" he started writing something on the paper in front of them but the young boy wasn't looking. He was looking at the furniture and walls, not minding his tutor.
Until he met the eyes of the waitress. He was staring at them, and when he caught eye contact with the boy, the latter quickly concentrated on Jisung explaining the task.
Minho smiled to himself and changed his gaze to the more soft, an amazed one he had before, observing the cute boy who was in tutoring mood.
In the breaks, Jisung would send Minho a few looks but didn't dare to say anything. Both of them enjoyed the subtle contact they had.
Two hours passed, and the boy Jisung was tutoring, Saewoo, listened to him even more than always. Jisung was proud of his idea that worked.
"My driver is waiting outside. Bye" Saewoo left the cafe quickly, not looking back. His tutor sighed in relief.
"It really worked! Sorry, I acted like I didn't know you Minho. He could feel too sure knowing you're my friend"
"I totally get it. Do you want a coffee?"
"Yes, please"
"You did a good job explaining. From what I heard you're excellent at it"
"An architecture student, I know something about math"
"Why are you even studying architecture?" Minho sat next to Jisung and looked at his perfect face. They looked into each other's eyes and then Jisung looked at the machine making his coffee.
"I had to choose something. Medicine would be too much for me and I need a stable job"
"That's why you didn't choose music production" Minho mumbled and Jisung nodded.
"Sometimes it's fun to wonder but the reality brings you back. It's very hard to earn enough money and not live on the edge"
"Right now you're living on the edge too" Minho said gloomily.
"I chose to go to that edge. I can bring myself back to the stable ground and even guarantee that I won't ever have to go back to that edge"
"But you can fall very easily"
"Then I'll fall, I don't care"
Minho went to bring the boy his coffee.
Every time they spoke about Jisung's way of living it made Minho sad.
He wanted to change his life and show him that it was something more than just hard work.
