The Port Mafia's luxurious hotel gleamed with festive decorations. Gold and red ribbons wrapped around every column, sparkling lights illuminated the grand ballroom, and a massive Christmas tree stood proudly in the center. For once, the Port Mafia and the Armed Detective Agency had put their differences aside, if only for the holiday season.

Atsushi stood nervously by the food table, his eyes scanning the bustling crowd. The ADA and PM mingling together was... strange, to say the least. Ranpo and Chuuya were in a heated debate about desserts, Yosano and Kouyou were sipping wine as they exchanged stories, and even Mori and Fukuzawa seemed to tolerate standing in the same room.

"Relax, Tiger Boy," Dazai teased, sliding up beside Atsushi. "Enjoy the party. It's not every day we get to see Akutagawa *not* glaring daggers at everyone."

Atsushi flushed, his gaze flickering to where Akutagawa stood, speaking quietly with Gin near the edge of the room.

“I’m fine!” Atsushi insisted, but Dazai’s smirk told him he wasn’t fooling anyone.

As the night went on, Atsushi tried his best to stay out of the way, but fate—or perhaps Dazai—had other plans.

“Hey, Atsushi!” Gin called out suddenly. “Can you come here for a moment?”

Atsushi hesitated but walked over to where Gin and Akutagawa stood. Just as he reached them, Gin stepped back with a sly smile, leaving Atsushi and Akutagawa standing awkwardly... right under the mistletoe.

The room went silent.

“Oh no,” Atsushi muttered, realizing what was happening.

“Oh yes,” Chuuya called out, smirking from the other side of the room. “Rules are rules, Tiger.”

Akutagawa’s gaze flicked upward, his eyes narrowing as he noticed the mistletoe. His cheeks flushed faintly, but his voice remained as sharp as ever. “This is ridiculous.”

“Just get it over with!” Ranpo shouted, grinning like a child.

Atsushi looked at Akutagawa, who avoided his gaze at first. But after a long, tense moment, Akutagawa sighed and turned back to him. “Fine. Let’s make this quick.”

Before Atsushi could react, Akutagawa leaned in and pressed a quick, almost mechanical kiss to his lips. The entire room erupted into cheers and applause.

“Oh my god,” Atsushi mumbled, his face burning as the moment replayed in his mind.

Akutagawa, meanwhile, turned sharply to Gin. “Was this your idea?”

Gin just smirked and walked away without answering.

After the mistletoe incident, the party moved into full swing. Atsushi tried his best to avoid Akutagawa, though he couldn’t stop sneaking glances at him. To his surprise, Akutagawa seemed just as flustered, occasionally glaring at anyone who tried to bring it up.

The ballroom was filled with laughter and music. Yosano convinced Kouyou to join her for a dance, while Chuuya and Kunikida ended up singing a duet—though Kunikida was clearly forced into it.

Ranpo had taken over the dessert table, much to Chuuya’s annoyance, while Dazai and Mori seemed to be plotting something, exchanging mischievous grins from across the room.
