3rd POV:
Katsuki got over his flue pretty quickly with Izuku beckoning at his every need. Katsuki didn't like the constant babying but he decided to let it slide knowing that was just Izukus nature. If he was being honest, Izukus persistence gave Katsuki this weird feeling in his stomach, almost like butterflies fluttering around. The way his touch was so gentle and caring, his voice calm but also very insistent, something about Izuku just gave him this unfamiliar feeling he didn't know what to name. He liked being close to him, but at the same time it made him nervous. He loved how understanding and relatable he was even when Katsuki would least expect him to be. Katsuki may not show it often but, he really does appreciate everything Izuku has done for him.
"Bro, what about this one! It's perfect!" Kirishima said holding out a metal bracelet with a tiny piece of amethyst incrusted in it. "What are those purple rock thingy's?" Sero asked peeking over and between the blonde and red head as he asked pointing at the gemstones. Katsuki shoved the male out of his personal space as he took a better look at the bracelet Kirishima was holding. "It's not a rock dumb ass. It's amethyst, there minerals." Katsuki grumbled. Kirishimas chuckled lightheartedly, "man I didn't take you for the type to know gemstones." Katsuki rolled his eyes. "It's just basic gemmology." He stated as if every one should know that.
Sero and Kirishima shared a looked of confusion but telepathically decided not to push farther on the matter. "Who's it for anyway?" Katsuki asked bluntly. Kirishima looked away, a blush of embarrassment prominent on his cheeks. "Actually it's for... uh.. it's for, Mina...." He stated timidly. Katsuki raised a brow whilst Seros jaw dropped. "Mina?! Bro that's a pricey bracelet, can't you just get her a cute plushy or some lottery tickets?!" Sero asked in complete confusion. "No that-that won't work... it needs to be something she likes... something that has meaning." Kirishimas explained scratching the back of his neck finding the words. "Well what exactly is the 'meaning'?" Sero asked.
Something that has meaning? What about a bracelet with a few minerals in it has meaning? Is it because it's purple? Mina does like purple. But what makes the colour purple so special? Katsuki could buy Mina a bag of purple floss and she'll still love it, why is Kirishima all of a sudden trying to put so much thought and effort into a stupid Christmas gift? What exactly is Kirishima trying to do? Katsuki looked at the bracelet in his friends hand as he thought about every possible reason why this piece of jewelry had to be special, and then it clicked. It's basic gemmology after all.
"Jesus- you idiot, Shitty hairs got the hots for her." Katsuki said annoyed. Sero's eyes lit up with interest as he threw an arm over the red head's shoulder. "Ah, I see." He wiggled his eyebrows as he smiled teasingly. Kirishima looked away embarrassed as he pushed the taller male off. "Geez man- you didn't have to phrase it like that!" Kirishima complained making Katsuki roll his eyes. "What the heck did I miss? Is she into you? Have you asked her out yet? Did you sleep together? Are you in a forbidden romance!" Sero questioned, his exaggerated expressions began drawing the attention of other customers in the jewelry shop. Katsuki walked away acting interested in whatever it was he was looking at not wanting to be associated with the blushing idiot and the fan girl-ling moron. As Katsuki looked at all the random assortments of jewelry, his eyes scanned over a few pieces of jewelry until his eyes landed on a ring. It was boxed-in in the glass counter so all he could do was look. He looked behind him to see Sero harassing Kirishima for answers on his love life while Kirishima tried getting him to be quiet, and Katsuki took this opportunity to bend down slightly to read the label better.
-Men's Emerald and gold flake Tungsten ring. 32,725 ¥
It was a good looking ring. It wasn't really katsuki's style, but all he could think of was how good it would look on Deku. Katsuki nearly choked on air when he noticed the price. He'd have to sell a kidney to afford that. He was pissed. He was never one to put much thought into a stupid Christmas present, but Izuku has been nothing but helpful to Katsuki. Driving him to work even though Katsuki knew that wasn't on Izuku's way. Making him and Sophie dinner when Katsuki was home late. Tapping-out whoever was watching Sophie because he didn't mind keeping her company. Fuck. Has Katsuki been this caught up in working that he barely had time to appreciate not just his roommate but also his friend?
Great, now he felt like shit.
