Ghosts. Some say they aren't real, others believe that they are spirits that watch over us. What about if ghosts are just our guardian angels? They make sure nothing bad happens to us.
Chapter 15
Recap:
"My dear sweet child. Look at me." Said a voice to my left. The voice sounded familiar, like I've heard it a million times before.
Ignoring the feeling of not wanting to look, I turned my head to the voice.
It was my father, but it wasn't really him, he was covered in a blue light that surround him.
~.~
I stood there frozen in shock. No, my father left us eight years ago. He couldn't possibly be here.
"Dad?" I choked out.
My father looked at me sadly. "Yes honey, I'm really here. Well as real as it can get for a ghost." My dad chuckled lightly.
"A g-ghost? B-but they d-don't e-exist!" I stuttered.
"But they do my dear. I'm proof of that." He said calmly.
My dad was dead? I always thought one day he'd come back to me. But he's dead! How? Why? When?
"But how?!" I shouted. "You can't be dead!" Tears started filling my eyes.
Dad looked so sad, like he was broken in that moment.
"Why did you leave us?" I whispered, sniffling after.
"Oh honey. I never wanted to leave you, or your mother. But I had to."
"Why?" I asked. Looking in his blue eyes, that were exactly like mine, made me want to cry more.
"Nicole, it was my job. For the coven." He said.
The coven? What coven? What the hell is a coven? Was he insane? Or am I insane? I am seeing people. Maybe I'm going insane.
"A coven?" I laughed. "I really must have hit my head or something." I muttered to myself.
"You didn't hit your head. This is real." He looked at me straight in the eyes before saying, "A coven, that's what I said. Do you know what a witch is Nicole?" He asked me.
A witch? Of course I know what that is. But of course I know that they don't exist.
"Witches don't exist. And neither do ghosts. I'm probably dreaming." I brought my right arm up and pinched it with my left hand.
Nothing happened. That usually works. I look at my arm confused.
"Like I said before, you are not dreaming." My dad said.
"But I must be dreaming! None of this is real!" I was so confused.
"Nicole, when you touched the blue stone of my necklace, it woke me into my ghost, to explain to you everything. Since your mother was never going to tell you." He started raising his voice a little bit at the end.
I laughed lightly. "Next your going to start telling me werewolf's are real."
He didn't say anything. "You've got to be kidding me! Dad how am I suppose to believe any of this?!" I asked.
"Just let me explain. I was the leader of our coven. It was called The Black Moonlight Coven. We were the most powerful coven in the entire world. I was the leader because my great great grandfather was Merlin, as he is yours. Therefore I was the most powerful witch. But since we were the most powerful, many tried to take us down. The vampires most of all. They wanted the power for themselves, greedy bastards. That night eight years ago, my coven was attacked. I was called in, and I left. Without saying goodbye because I didn't think I'd be gone for long. Turns out the vampires had some sort of old magic power. Very old, because it was strong, so strong it bet us. Everyone died, from what I know of." He finished sadly.
My mouth hung open the whole time he was talking. Was this real? That would explain why he left....
"Then dad, if your a....witch. What does that make me?" I asked. I was afraid to hear the answer.
"A witch my dear. The most powerful one in the world right now." My dad said calmly.
The most powerful one in the world?! But I don't even have powers!
"I know what your thinking. 'You don't even have powers' that's because I blocked them. The night I left eight years ago. I blocked them so if the war ended badly, which it did, then you'd be safe. The vampire lord couldn't track you." My dad explained.
"B-but why are you here? Just to explain the past?" I asked suspiciously.
He sighed and looked down. The blue light surrounding him, still there.
"I'm afraid not. The spell I used eight years ago is wearing off. Your powers are getting stronger. The spell is going to break, soon. And all the power that's been suppressed in you, is going to come out, you need to learn how to control it." He explained.
"But how? I've never been in control of anything!" I yelled.
It's true, I couldn't control him leaving. I couldn't control my mother to stop all the abuse. I can't control anything. How am I suppose to control all these powers?
"Honey, your be fine. And I'd ask that boy, Jared, across the street if he knows anything." He winked at me.
I blushed. Just thinking about Jared made me blush. I looked down at my feet.
"But dad. I need help. I can't do this on my own." I said quietly.
"Your powers will be coming soon. I'm always with you. Just remember that. And if you ever need me, touch the blue stone and think of me." He whispered before disappearing into thin air.
"No! Don't leave me again!" I cried into the empty space.
"Dad?!" I cried out again. Waiting for a response, but I received none. He's gone.
Jared. He said to ask Jared if he knew anything. And I'm thinking he did. I'm getting answers.
My father said my powers are coming soon, I need to be prepared. I didn't want to hurt anyone if I got out of control.
I can't believe I'm believing this! Werewolf's, vampires, and witches. It's all crazy! But I know what my father said was true.
Now I had to find Jared, and get some answers.
