The next city we were assigned was Los Angeles. We were told that this would be our last city, after which we would return to base.
And so, we set off. This time it was just a one-hour drive, and it was our last city, so I didn't mind avoiding the zombies; I just ran over them. Los Angeles had more aggressive zombies for some reason; many of them tried to punch their way into our speeding car. All of us sat attentively, making sure none of the zombies damaged the car enough for other zombies to make their way into our car. I had some difficulty in finding the launch centre, but finally was able to locate it with the help of our GPS. Our GPS used to get updated automatically whenever the next city was assigned to us, and the next launch centre would automatically pop up, showing directions from our current location to the launch centre.
Soon enough, we had reached the base. This building was larger compared to the previous two centres, and the missile was larger too. More antidote for more aggressive zombies, I guess. This time, we had to stay for seven long days, which honestly got very boring. But, like always, as the launch closed in, activity increased. Scientists got more agitated and short-tempered, not to mention that they would always be in a hurry.
Finally, the third missile was launched, and this one cleansed Los Angeles successfully. Three cheers for our hardworking scientists.
Everyone congratulated each other. Goodbyes were said as we left for base.
